I don't doubt that they'd like to keep it in the family, but it's up to the voters, and even well liked families like the Kennedys and Clintons, eventually became hated. Although if trump wins this time around there might not be anymore elections in the US for a while.

Like, you have morons like Lori Lightfoot who refuse to allow federal help, and there are parts of Chicago which are/were food and medication deserts, where you couldn't get either for like five miles. Of course she only represents herself and not the Dems as a whole, but she's hardly unique, and her mishandling of the riots gives ammo to the other side to show how "useless" the Dems are.

You see trumps unaccountable, nameless army pulling people off the streets in unmarked cars, to take them god knows where, and your takeaway is that the dems look incompetent?

There are systemic issues at play in cities like chicago, and it all comes back to funding and the refusal of a decade plus of republican governance to spend money at the federal level, on anything other than tax cuts.

What were the people doing before their arrests? Were they released or sentenced, or simply never seen again?
