….a great cast as well, isn’t it…?..I watched it a while ago, it was very absorbing…

Ammi 12-03-2025 06:15 AM

…Appaloosa….…I’m not generally drawn to Wild West movies but this was a good watch and a good cast with Ed Harris and Viggo Mortensen and also Renee Zellweger so an impressive cast that raised it to a lot…dodgy gunslingers in a dodgy town with dodgy bad guys, all very watchable…6.5/10…

Ammi 13-03-2025 05:30 AM

…Breaking……John Boyega was excellent …🩷… based on a true story is all I’ll say because I don’t want to give the plot away…very riveting watch…6.5/10…

…They Made Us……there was very little to attach to in the movie, I found…but very sad and grey and very real….5/10…

John Wick - Chapter 4 (2023)

An action packed movie that is never boring but it's quite ridiculous. Take your brain out for this one.

It's basically a violent cartoon that includes a blind assassin who has a killing rate of 10 people a minute. Totally absurd. :D

All in all I give it 7/10.

That's a very fun Film imo.

Especially if (like you've said yourself) you can switch your brain off and don't think about it too much from a realistic perspective.

Apocalypse Z: The Beginning of the End : A Spanish Zombie movie, it was pretty good but
Spoiler:

The ending wasn't very ending but maybe that was the point and what they meant by the subtitle.......or else there will be a Part 2
7/10

…Mother and Child……one of those interconnecting stories that could have been very empty but the cast are perfect and fill it with so much heart and soul…Naomi Watts, Annette Bening, Kerry Washington, Samuel L Jackson all excellent in their roles…6/10…

Last night I watched The Hills Have Eyes (1977).

Seen it and the 2006 remake before. Both are good and not much difference between the two, just different actors. :p

The infamous shooting scene in both movies is very realistic and upsetting.

I give both movies 7/10.

Catch and release. I keep forgetting that I've seen it and when I see it again I'm reminded that's it's a lovely little movie.

Also Don't move.

The Dark Knight

9.0 IMDB

Really classy film, beautifully shot. Some fantastic performances by the line memorisers and you can tell the Director is one of the very best.

9/10

Heretic 2024

May I say I was never a fan of Hugh Grant. He has played the same toff character with the floppy hair for decades.

Now he's old and grey and very wrinkled, he's turned his hand to horror films. This one Heretic gets rave reviews but even from the first few minutes I was bored by it. The dialogue is awful, contrived and the acting by the two girls, particularly the fair haired girl just got on my nerves.

So these two Mormon girls visit a weird old guy at his home in the hope of converting him to their religion. After the first five minutes I was so bored. It doesn't take an Eienstein to see where all this is going. A slow - so slow, very talkative load of codswallop. Not scary one bit. Boring, so boring.

I must say one hour was my limit. I didn't care what happened next. This movie sucked. And I don't know why it gets so many great reviews.

I didn't finish it but one hour was too much, I couldn't take any more. I did whiz through to the end and it turned out to be the usual tedious slasher stuff. Still boring.

1/-10

Have you seen Guy Ritchie film The Gentlemen? Hugh Grant is really good in it and it's a fantastic cast, Matthew McConaughy, Colin Farrell, Michelle Dockery, Eddie Marsan... I'd highly recommend it.

I might try that one but not a Hugh fan.

…Kidnap (2017)….…with Halle Berry …was billed as an action thriller but really a silly thriller…4/10…

I did enjoy it a lot. Little light on the actual zombie action, but it was still a very fun watch. I'll be very interested to watch the sequel if and when they ever get around to actually making it.

Also watched Presence yesterday. It's billed as a horror, but it's really more of a supernatural mystery/thriller with a very cool Hitchcockian twist near the end. The hook of the movie is seeing a supernatural haunting from the direct POV of the ghost itself. Fairly original depiction of it, too.
