i listened to them this morning and none of them wowed me

i did like hey girl but i still think this is gonna be her worst album to date

artpop was a mess but it was a hot mess with some bops (venus, sexxx dreams, gypsy etc) whereas joanne just sounds boring/mediocre

she hasn't released anything amazing in over half a decade like it baffles me how some people still credit her as the biggest/best pop star on the planet :worry:

Which, sans Beyoncé (excluding song writing obv) none of the other pop girls possess, I don't think she is the *biggest* pop girl anymore, but she's obviously still huge and everyone knows she has the potential to be the biggest again if she really wanted to

Being a musician isn't just about popularity though. I think she's just doing what feels right for her now, instead of purely chasing sales for the sake of it.

That doesn't mean it's not the case with this era. I can't think why else she's doing it, she's not stupid so she must know she's not gonna have the kind of sales with it she used to have.

Because she's said herself she's not bothered about how her songs perform on the charts, she's made 100s millions of $ why would she care, she's said she's making the music that she wants to make as apposed to what other people are telling her to make

Intelligent lyrics mean nothing when the song is boring. Like I appreciate that she's trying to be a serious artist now but she should just join a poetry competition or something instead of not delivering to her pop audience in the slightest.

Also Telephone is shaping up to be better than all of Joanne's tracks, Circus always wins.

She has had some breathtaking lyrics in literally every album. There are some songs that I don't really like and I don't mind admitting that, but honestly she is a walking masterpiece of talent and she has written amazing, profound, beautiful lyrics and no sheep who hates her current era because its a "cool" thing to do can take that away from her.

Its clear she has talent, she's easily one of the best musicians of our generation - 10 times better the most of the crap people on here 'stan'. I don't know whether these comments are people just trolling or what, but it's pretty laughable how many people are trying to start fights in the Gaga threads/music section.

I just don't understand why people don't just keep away if they have such high expectations and they know she's not going to deliver exactly what they want. I have an open mind about literally everything even though that may not come across on the forum but it means I never get disappointed by what she releases, she had said so many times that she wants to release real, personal music that's true to her and that's what she's doing. If people don't like it then fair enough, don't moan, go have a listen to a live Katy performance if that's what you're into. :hee:
