Coronation Street favourite Bill Roache is gently easing himself back into work after the sudden loss of his wife Sara last month. This week he shot a touching farewell scene between his character Ken Barlow and an attractive divorcee he's grown close to, played by actress Stephanie Beacham. The 76-year-old Weatherfield stalwart filmed the episode on a Manchester houseboat with Stephanie, previously known for her role on US TV series The Colbys. His bereavement is among several devastating losses to hit the cast recently. Earlier this week Kym Marsh returned to work following the death of her prematurely born baby son Archie Jay. Their colleague Antony Cotton – the series' Sean Tully – said: "We are all being as strong as we can and doing our very best to look after each other". |
[spoil]Can't remember which mag, I read this in, sorry.
In April, John and Fiz are talking and her friends are concerned she will get back together with him. Peter and Simon are trapped in the flat which has caught on fire. Tony rescues Simon and are both taken to hospital, fighting for their lives. Maria visits Tony in hospital and... well, the mag said "actions speak louder than words" - whatever that means. Julie splits with Kirk and she and Jason comfort each other... in bed. Becky and Steve's wedding takes place on Friday 13th (!)[/spoil] Found on imdb..most of the spoilers are true, so I see no reason to doubt the fire one, especially with the 'Fire horror' thing |
Horror at 7:30pm?

CORRIE churchgoers end up hot under the collar after a trendy new vicar rolls into town — and starts blessing ANIMALS.
Touchy-feely Rev Peach (Nick Caldecott) is taking over from Rev Sedgley — and he’s got lots of modern ideas. He soon ruffles feathers by blessing pets — including chickens, ponies and rabbits — on Easter Sunday. And battleaxe Blanche Hunt (Maggie Jones) goes berserk after stepping in dog muck at the church. She blasts: “Just look at me new Scholls. It’s more like Rolf Harris’s Animal Hospital in here. You’ll do anything to get people through them doors with your daft new-fangled ideas. Call yourself a vicar... you’re a disgrace.” But Sophie Webster (Brooke Vincent) likes the vicar and decides to get baptised. She tells mum Sally he’s “brought Jesus into my life”. Bosses are plotting some big storylines for the cleric — who likes to be called Reverend Rick. An insider said: “We’ve decided to go back to basics and to the days when the local vicar was very much a part of daily life. “But viewers may find there’s a darker side to Rev Rick.” His first scenes air on April 12. The Sun I like it, Corrie has never really had a priest |

Following Oasis' Noel Gallagher's declaration that he would love to appear in ITV soap Coronation Street, a spokesperson for the show has suggested that the door could be open for him to appear.
Earlier today (March 13) Gallagher spoke of his love of the show, saying he'd be interested in replacing the David Platt character if he ever got "bumped off". After hearing of the comment a Coronation Street spokesperson refused to rule out the possibility of the guitarist appearing on the show in some form. "We're thrilled Noel watched us thinks we're cool," the spokesperson told NME.COM. He added that it was "too early to say" whether Gallagher could ever make an appearance, but refused to confirm or deny that it could be a genuine possibility. NME.com |
wth?

It'd be cool if he joined as himself, since the Gallagher brothers are considered gods by some on the street

WEATHERFIELD will become a bloodbath when homicidal Tony Gordon goes on another killing rampage, we can reveal.
The murderer, played by hunky Gray O’Brien, will arrange the slaughter of his new boss Luke Strong (Craig Kelly) in a dramatic new plotline. Show bosses have given popular actor Gray another 12-month contract to continue his rampage. A Corrie source explained: “Tony already hates Luke, who has been given a controlling interest in Underworld by his runaway wife Carla. “But when he starts lording it over his rival, Tony goes into an all-consuming rage. “But Luke, still Carla’s mysterious confidant, may know a lot more than Tony bargains for. There will be doubts during the coming weeks that he may not be exactly who he says he is, and that there is an unknown agenda for him being at the factory.” Scriptwriters are teeing Tony up for a final confrontation with absent wife Carla when actress Alison King returns from maternity leave this year. God corrie take a year off...get some fresh ideas...:bored:

CORRIE star Alison King may cut short her maternity leave — to commit murder.
Soap bosses are begging her to return as factory femme fatale Carla Gordon in a new dramatic plot. They want the new mum to become a killer just like her psychotic on-screen husband Tony. But Alison, 35, is still mulling over the early return. She and her Corrie sound technician boyfriend Adam Huckett are currently taking time out from the soap after the birth of their daughter Daisy Mae in February. The shock new storyline sees Carla turn killer and Corrie chiefs need her back on screen sooner than planned. A friend told TV Biz: “Alison couldn’t believe it when they asked her to come back early — it’s only weeks since she gave birth.” Advertisement The star was even more surprised when told Carla was about to become a killer. However, she was relieved to discover Carla will only kill in self-defence. Her character was last seen driving out of Weatherfield. She had just heard Tony (Gray O’Brien) confess he had her lover Liam Connor (Rob James-Collier) killed in a staged hit-and-run so he could have her to himself. Under the new storyline, Carla will return early from America where she secretly fled. Coronation Street insiders are keeping tight-lipped about who she will murder. But they say the plot will involve some of the most exciting Corrie scenes ever. The Sun |
