All of the soaps were affected by the hot weather on Tuesday (July 24) night, overnight data has indicated. EastEnders led the pack with 6.8m (38.1%) at 7.30pm as Lola named her new baby, adding 769k (3.8%) for BBC Three's 10pm repeat. Emmerdale grabbed 5.97m (35.2%) for a big episode which saw Rachel tell Jai she is pregnant, while Hollyoaks managed 849k (5.6%) at 6.30pm and 429k (2.6%) for E4's first look half an hour later. |
On me phone right now so I can't post the ratings in full yet but EastEnders could only muster 7.8m (34%) and 6.7m (29%).

I know this thread hasn't been used for almost a year but now may be the best time to start using it again, I guess.

No idea how all the other soaps held up last night but Corrie had over 7.4 million for both installments, way ahead of the royal baby arrival, which had 4.9m/22.2%.

Spoiler: As a trivial matter, it's concerning to see EastEnders slipping into the fives, with even Emmerdale doing better than it. The share in particular at 29% is absolutely abysmal. |
thought Emmerdale would have had more on Thursday

Thursday 5 September 2013
BBC 1 19.30 - EastEnders - 6.89 million (35.4%) 20.00 - Waterloo Road - 3.28 million (15.8%) ITV 1 19.00 - Emmerdale - 6.40 million (34.5%)/6.57 million (35.3%) 20.00 - Emmerdale - 5.76 million (27.9%)/6.04 million (29.2%) ----------------------------------------------------------------------------- Good to see EastEnders maintaining its exact audience and share all week, but the fact that it can't even reach 7 million at this time of year is disappointing, especially given what's happened this week. Dire. |

BBC 1 20.00 - EastEnders - 5.7m (26%) ITV 1 19.00 - Emmerdale - 6.2m (33%)/6.36m (33.7%) ----------------------------------------------------------------------------- Absolutely terrible rating for EastEnders there... |
Yesterday's Corrie nabbed 7.42m (32.7%) on ITV, with a further 427k (1.7%) on +1; total = 7.85m (34.4%).
