Loved Ground Zeros. It was even shorter than the "yo dude it's really short" I was expecting. But I'm totally on board with the new tone the series is taking now.

Battlefield is boring but I hate military, online based shooters so I don't know what I was expecting. Or why I even bought the ****ing thing. I'm trading it in towards maybe Wolfenstein tomorrow. Which looks like so much fun and a good antidote to the sort of lame direction conservative American FPS development has taken.

I'm downloading Final Fantasy XIV as we speak. It's going to be a long, confusing night.

Wolfenstein >>> everything

Stu 16-08-2014 05:57 PM

I'll prob pick up Shadow Fall for cheap as well. I know it's nothing groundbreaking but it's like 20 quid pre owned now which is totally worth it. I'd really rather play a 6 hour bad action movie with a bit of character over COD/Battlefield.

Scarlett. 16-08-2014 08:38 PM

Shadowfall has some really decent parts to it, I think if they'd have had more dev time the game could have been a lot better.

The final question is the obvious one. Will we see The Last Guardian at the Tokyo Game Show?

Shuhei Yoshida: I don't think so. Sorry.

So, when will we see it?

Shuhei Yoshida: When we are ready. I cannot confirm any timing because we are waiting for it to be in a state where we are happy that this is the game. We have a certain time frame in our mind, and the team is making great progress, but still not to the point that we can say that, here you go.

Can you say why it's taking so long in development?

Shuhei Yoshida: The technical issues on PS3 and the way it was engineered didn't work. It worked to some extent, that's why we had a date in mind.

You did announce a release date for it on PS3.

Shuhei Yoshida: Yeah. That was a mistake. But at one time it was looking possible. It has been totally re-engineered. They're still working on it. I've been seeing the progress.
Interestingz

PSN was knocked off this morning by one of those childish "hacker" groups, it looks to be recovering now though. Don't worry though, it was just a basic DDoS attack and nothing like the incident a few years ago.

Scarlett. 24-08-2014 07:04 PM

So things escalated a little, the group tweeted a fake bomb threat to an airline and the flight has been diverted, these guys are in deep ****, will be funny when the FBI kick down their doors.

Scarlett. 24-08-2014 07:32 PM

No information has been breached, though that was pretty obvious since Sony will have beefed up their security since 2011

Quote:

Like other major networks around the world, the PlayStation Network and Sony Entertainment Network have been impacted by an attempt to overwhelm our network with artificially high traffic.

Although this has impacted your ability to access our network and enjoy our services, no personal information has been accessed.
We will continue to work towards fixing this issue and hope to have our services up and running as soon as possible.

We regret any inconvenience this may have caused.

Getting serious lag online tonight....horrific

Stu 24-08-2014 11:17 PM

Mine's still down for repairs. Haven't had my fix of Realm Reborn all ****ing day :(.

Scarlett. 24-08-2014 11:22 PM

Same, today was gonna be my hungover gaming day, first time I've had a weekend off in months :( My PS3 and Vita are reconnected now, so it could be that Sony just wants to add a few extra hours and carry out the scheduled maintinence now, instead of taking PSN down tommorow.

Iceman 25-08-2014 12:15 AM

I gave up....

Scarlett. 25-08-2014 12:36 AM

It's apparently coming back up, but it will take time to work for everyone, also, maintinence might be cancelled too (most likely becase of it being off two days in a row would be bad PR, and secondly, because they've only just recovered.)

Scarlett. 25-08-2014 01:21 AM

It's officially online

Ryan57 25-08-2014 02:14 PM

Lol, hacked again. Lizard Squad is a great name.

DDoS isn't hacking.

Ryan57 25-08-2014 02:44 PM

Oh, didn't read into it... I just read media outlets and people saying hacked.

Ryan57 25-08-2014 02:52 PM

So, they claim to of done it to make a point about Sony not protecting in anyway against this sort of thing.

Scarlett. 25-08-2014 02:53 PM

Yeah, you'd think that news outlets would do research, rather than just slapping "hacked" on a story, lol.

Ryan57 25-08-2014 02:54 PM

Seems they did the same to Xbox Live, although it was dealt with quicker by MS and didn't have as much effect.

Yeah, XBL is pretty strong, though it's to be expected since Microsoft are the biggest software company out there, lol.

Scarlett. 25-08-2014 03:56 PM

The PlayStation Network and Sony Entertainment Network are back online and people can now enjoy the services on their PlayStation devices.

The networks were taken offline due to a distributed denial of service attack. We have seen no evidence of any intrusion to the network and no evidence of any unauthorised access to users’ personal information.

In light of today’s issue, the networks will not undergo the regularly scheduled maintenance, which was planned for Monday, 25th August. We will provide an update shortly for when the maintenance will be rescheduled.

We sincerely apologise for the inconvenience caused by this issue. Thanks for your patience and support.
