The opening scene in Charade is set in a ski resort. So I just thought that was were you got "quand il neige, il neige".

Audrey Hepburn was exceptionally beautiful. I came across what might be her earliest appearance on camera on Youtube, as a sort of Air Hostess, just after the War. 1948, I think.

..yeah, I saw you posted that in the chat thread, thank you for doing that..(I did reply..)..I hadn't seen it before, I wonder how old she was at the time, she looked incredibly young and 'fresh faced'..she was very beautiful, yes but it's not just her 'outer beauty'..I think she was very 'beautiful inside' as well...

Well it was 1948. I think she may have been 19. Not sure.

Good movies are timeless. For example, I love Stalag 17. It's brilliant.

Ammi 26-12-2013 06:08 AM

..it's Nashville, yeah it is lovely, here is a daytime image...

..I think I've seen Stalag 17, but I can't remember much about it, sorry...my dad was a huge fan of old war movies/westerns though..one of his favourites was Zulu, which we all had to watch every Christmas time if it was on TV...which it usually was...

That image is absolutely exquisite. Right down to the structures on the waterfront.

Nemo123 26-12-2013 06:14 AM

Really really vibrant and bright and detailed. Make fabulous posters.

..it's almost like one of those group/school photographs..right, we'll have the smaller ones on the first row, 'medium' on the second and tallest at the back lol...kind of perfectly put together for the most pleasing effect...

Zulu is Michael Caine's second or so big screen film. He played a posho in it. Great film, but my favourite Caine film is "Get Carter".

..the acting in Zulu was dire but it was somehow so awful that it was good as well...what about the Italian Job, did you like that one..?...

Another wonderful image. Pictures are best shown off on a computer screen because it's like a light box. The printed image loses most of its vibrancy.

"You were only suppose to blow the bloody doors off!"
Yeah, liked that. Hated the ending, with the coach half hanging off the cliff.

Nemo123 26-12-2013 06:26 AM

I love photography. It's been my on and off hobby since I was a kid.

Ammi 26-12-2013 06:27 AM

..yeah, I love the colours of the night cityscapes and the contrast of more remote daytime scenery...if the impossible were possible, then I think my ideal would be to live in Norway by day and then transport to somewhere like Tokyo every evening to absorb the views..I don't think that I would like the crowds though..the hustle and bustle of it....but the views would be incredible...I'll work on my vampire speed flying abilities...

Ah, if only. I remember wishing the very same thing, sort of. To be teleported to the sun after a hard days work in Dublin Airport. My thoughts were influenced by where I was, I suppose, an airport.
