Of course its the world cups fault. And anyway, it looks that with +1 it would have hit 1m anyway, counting officials, it will probably be up to 1.5m. And maybe you should look at the figures, 2.8m was BB11 official average, the overnight average was 2.5m, and the times it faced the world cup it went below 2m.

Everything gets hurt my the WC. People on DS are having mental breakdowns at EE going sub 4m when its clear that it will recover to 6m+ when the WC ends.

Seriously though a repeat of Benidorm beat it by 900k which started at 9:30 there was a fair amount of people watching tv at the time. Nothing apart from a few shows were really down by a huge amount.

To compare last nights ratings which were up against BB (9pm/10.30pm)

Graham Norton: 2.79 million (20.3%)

Benidorm repeat was seen by 1.74 million (7.7%) at 9.30pm on ITV.

Alan Carr: Chatty Man: 1.28 million (7.4%)

8 out of 10 cats: 1.04

Big Brother: 884k (3.8%)

for The Bat Man of Mexico: Natural 730k (3.1%)
World

People are watching tv, they are just choosing to watch other things

We don't know that for sure though, you cant just give a statement like that when the other shows that beat BB are more appealing to BB viewers in my opinion.

BB consists of mostly female viewers.

I just want to see these officials now to see if people are still interested but just cant watch it when its in its time slot....I don't think that would happen every night though which it has been .

erinp5 14-06-2014 04:55 PM

Big Brother ratings are being slaughtered around 800k tuned in last night, ratings WAY down compared to BB11 (last world cup)

Normally Fridays get the most TV viewers and there favourite show is normally on Fridays that's why people tune in on Fridays, Like Alan Carr Cher lloyd was on there and fans of Cher will tune in and watch it same with the Graham Norton show

I'm a bit annoyed at the +1 not coming out (don't want this to turn into another BB14 situation)

Even BB13 was beating this in most overnights I believe and that was up against The Olympics.

C'mon BB we are all routing for you!!! lol Its been the underdog of tv shows for years now and finally seemed like it had made a comeback but 800k no one can even defend it.

Even the most positive people on here are admitting its bad.

The Olympics didn't clash with Big Brother that much

So BB was beaten because they wanted to watch Cher Lloyd on Alan Carr?

This is a serious answer?

Also you're saying those shows are more popular than BB so theres no defence.

*mazedsalv** 14-06-2014 05:02 PM

It's so annoying about the missing +1, also more annoying about the interview rating!! That could have done quite well! Please, someone find them!! :(

Ah ok and Britney Spears has 37.6 million followers yet her appearance on Alan Carr brought in about 1.3/1.5 if I remember right.

First people say Twitter has no effect on rating and then they back track.

It flopped in a massive way and im so pissed off about the +1 aswell and the fact theres no ratings released for the eviction interview at 10:30. It must have been very low as usually less people tune into the interviews.

Maybe it was 500k or something drastic and that's why it hasn't been released?

Can anyone get the Bots ratings as they are usually the same or 200k down or something, will give us a good indication.

Samm 14-06-2014 05:08 PM

I can't tbh at people slating BB for ratings this year mainly on twitter, it's only doing not as well as last year because of the World cup why won't they get that in there heads

Because repeats of Benidorm are beating it by almost a million.

People will stay on ITV after the football tbh and watch Benidorm, I am sure that the officials will be good

To give it some praise it has been beating itv and channel 4 on some occasions but the ratings were way down before the world cup even started.

I personally think its because people cannot invest in BB and the world cup at the same time.

BB is a commitment like Davina said after she left the show it took over her summer because she would have to keep up with every episode. Its the same with us viewers.

The good thing is we have on demand and stuff now so hopefully we will see some pretty big leaps in officials like BB14 which all shocked us when episodes were getting over 2 million.

But i do think BB has lost some of its following after launch night 1 aswell. The fans are choosing not to watch because they simply didn't like or enjoy it.

BB launch night 2 lost about 400k of its loyal fanbase i think.

I see it a lot on the forum that people are finding that they are watching not out of enjoyment but because they feel a kind of loyalty to the show, many people aren't like that and will switch off.

Samm 14-06-2014 05:23 PM

ok I do agree with you there, they shouldn't of done that 2 part launch, I enjoyed both of them but it should of been one all together (US BB are doing a 2 part launch this year as well) But yeah i'm hoping the officials do well

JohnnyBB 14-06-2014 05:49 PM

HOLY ****!! Includeds +1

0.99million saw first eviction show at 9pm, though a decent 0.96m stuck for the second at 10.40pm

they're clearly not  all these ratings are awful. I didn't mention EE getting it's lowest figures since 2006 for no reason.

I'm actually tired of you. You make things up and slam the show and say "IT'S FAILING" when you have NO evidence to back up your claim.

Big Brother's social media has GROWN in the past week, not dropped. So wherever you got your idea that it dropped from is beyond me. Applause Store only offer tickets for evictions starting on the Friday before. They get fully booked by Wednesday constantly and is one of their most popular bookings - This is coming from me who promotes Applause Store and is in continuous contact with a member of staff to bring competitions etc.

As for ratings, I don't know how many times we have to say that Big Brother isn't what it used to be. You're obsessed with the whole "CHANNEL 4 WAS BETTER WE NEED THIS" idea. Yes, Channel 4 may have been better - but what Channel 5 are doing works for them. Big Brother has a huge overseas following and online following, and that's showing with the tweeting stats. Big Brother's ratings are OVERNIGHTS! They're not the official ratings, and they don't take into account the recording figures, Channel 5+24 figures, on demand figures and in some cases Channel 5+1 figures.

Please stop with the bull and get some facts to back up your claims.

It doesn't include Channel 5+1. Digital Spy report the Channel 5 rating and then the Channel 5+1 rating separate in brackets. There was no rating for +1.

I'm not saying the rating is good, because it's not. I'm saying official ratings will save this series.

erinp5 14-06-2014 07:14 PM

This year’s Big Brother series could become the least watched EVER to air as numbers crash.

For the past two nights now the show has attracted fewer than a million viewers, including for last night’s first live eviction show.

Crushing competition from the World Cup, which won’t be over for another month yet, has seen figures plummet .

Yesterday’s show was watched by just 900,000 viewers at 9PM while over 11 million viewers were watching Netherlands thrash Spain 5-1 in the latest World Cup match.

It was down almost a million viewers on last year’s show which had seen Sallie Axl go head to head with Gina Rio and Dexter Koh.

Channel 5′s new trashy dating show Stand by Your Man struggled in between the two Big Brother live instalments, scoring just over 500,000 viewers.

Big Brother then returned back at 10:40PM between two football matches for the eviction result and a live twist, where again just 900,000 viewers watched.

The latest episode of Bit On The Side fared even worse as it went head to head with Chile and Australia’s four goal match on ITV from 11PM.

So far this year the series has averaged 1.2 million viewers, down some 400,000 viewers on last year’s first week average of closer to 1.6 million.

Unfortunately for show bosses things get worse tonight as the show clashes with the first England game of the competition.

Bizarrely, despite the game starting at 10:20PM on BBC One, schedulers have not put the show in its usual 9PM Saturday slot but instead decided to air against the match between 10PM and 11PM.
