BRILLIANT newsletter from Gaz,eeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee.

Hi everyone

I'm writing this while flying back from France. We've had a 2 week holiday in the middle of our recording schedule so it was perfect time to fit in a break with the kids and get some sun. Dan had his 8th birthday in August. Thanks for all your messages and cards.

Where did those 8 years go ??

New Take That Album

Although not looking forward to the weather back home I can't wait to finish the new record and get it out for you all to hear!!

We've been joined again by the fabulous John Shanks. So glad he's sharing his magic touch with us one more time.

I must say I've had the most fun making Take That's 5th album. After all these years it really feels, for the first time, like we're a real band ! Fantastic! And from next month the boys and I will be back out around Europe doing TV's and radios so look out for us.

San Remo Publishing

In my effort to support and bring on new talent, last year I set up San Remo Publishing. I use this company to sign Songwriters and Artists who write their own songs. I can't tell you how rewarding getting involved in peoples careers has been. I'm so passionate about this as I have lived through many ups and downs in my time and take so much pleasure in steering my artists and songwriters in the right direction.

It's also been interesting how much they're teaching me in this process. I guess we're never finished learning? My best wishes go to Bryn Christopher who has his 1st album coming out next week.

Jo Whiley has been Bryns biggest supporter so far. He's also played every major festival this Summer and received rave reviews.

It's been amazing watching him grow into a timeless artist. Please check out his music, I promise you'll love it.

New Song for Peter Kay's New Show

Look out for Peter Kay's new show on Channel 4 in October. Peter and I wrote a song for the programme that is off the hook. I got to spend 2 amazing days with him and I got to tell you he is a genius. I have total respect for the work he does and the endless details and dedication he applies to it. I've only know him for a couple of years now but feel I have a friend for life. Love him !
Don't miss the show.

Britannia High

We finished and mastered last week the Britannia high Album. It's been so much fun to make. The reason for that is that I've made it with a bunch of mates. All the top UK songwriters were part of the process. I'm so thankful to them all for sharing their talent with us. In the next newsletter I'll share with you the unique way we made this record.

On a personal note Dawn and me are pregnant again!

And before you ask it was all planned. Funny everyone asks us if it was a mistake. I guess we've waited quite a long time now with Emily being 6 this year. Anyway we can't wait. It's due 3 days before my birthday!! It's also quite nice because Mark's new baby is due in December we're sharing stories already. Most of the young baby stuff I've forgotten now so he's being a good source of info.

..And Finally

I'm back to my training tomorrow. I've eaten my way through the Summer and now in real need of some clean living. I have 6 months now before my big challenge in 09!!

More news on that to follow.

Gary

Thanks for that Laura ^_^

Princess 17-10-2008 09:35 PM

Callum told me to bump this

Callum 17-10-2008 09:39 PM

The song has really grown on me. I love Rule the World and Shine though, they're both immense songs.

Princess 17-10-2008 09:41 PM

I've listened to it about 90 times(if I was lying) :blush2:

I've listened to Shine about 2,000 times though in less than 2 years. I'm so cool. 'Rule the World' is about 800 plays

Mrluvaluva 17-10-2008 09:44 PM

So we have confusion over the release date of the album?

The forum says the 1st,has it been announced as the 2nd?

Mrluvaluva 17-10-2008 10:01 PM

I apologise.

This was the original announcement on the BBC news website:

"Boy band Take That and pop star Britney Spears will go head-to-head in the UK when they release their new albums of the same title, on the same day.

In September Spears announced her sixth studio album, Circus, would go on sale in the UK on 2 December."

The website has since changed it to December 1.

The facts I had were wrong.

Princess 17-10-2008 10:02 PM

Oooooh right! Its alright,I was just a tad confused is all. I felt slighty worried about having something about TT wrong

Princess 18-10-2008 03:28 PM

Hah the cheek of my dad! He came into my room just now and saw my desktop(which is the same pic as my sig) and he goes 'Good to see 'the boys' back on your agenda'. He thought I was 'neglecting' them for Luke and Bex! Pah.

Catch Take That on GMTV next week as they launch their brand new single

Take That will be on GMTV next week to release their hugely anticipated new single Greatest Day, released on November 24th.

Greatest Day was written by Mark Owen, Jason Orange, Howard Donald and Gary Barlow and was produced by John Shanks. The song was written and recorded at SARM studios in Notting Hill and was mixed in Los Angeles.

The video for Greatest Day was filmed on location in Los Angeles on top of a 60 story building in the downtown area. It was directed by Meiert Avis (who's previously shot videos for U2, Damian Rice, Bruce Springsteen, Bob Dylan).

Details on the band's new album will follow soon.

Take That facts

Take That's last album Beautiful World sold more than two and half million copies in the UK, making it their most successful record to date.
Since reclaiming their place as Britain's best loved band Take That have won a string of prestigious awards including an Ivor Novello for single Shine with Mark Owen on lead vocals, and three Brit Awards: Best Single (2007) for Patience, Best Single (2008) for Shine and Best Live Act (2008).
Their last two tours sold just short of a million tickets and the live DVDs they released in the wake of both were the biggest selling music titles of 2006 (The Ultimate Tour) and 2007 (Beautiful World Live).
They sold more than 30 million records between their first single release in 1991 and their breakup in 1996.
They scored their 10th number one single of their career with their single Shine. Their first number one, Pray, topped the charts back in 1993.

Callum 19-10-2008 07:01 PM

I bet there'll be a huge battle of the albums after December 1st for The Circus and Circus.

Princess 19-10-2008 07:04 PM

EMA news!
We’ve just announced our next performers - one of the most successful pop groups ever: Take That!

In 1994, the band performed at the very first MTV Europe Music Awards at the Brandenburg Gate, Berlin and then went on to win the award for Best Group. And now, to help ring in our 15th anniversary, they will be back onstage following their 2006 comeback album and their 2007 sell-out The Beautiful World Tour.

We can’t think of a better way to celebrate 15 years of extraordinary live performances than with Gary, Mark, Howard, and Jason.

Radio performance

Quote:

After Chris Moyles at Radio One gave it its first airing last Monday (13th), Take That's new single Greatest Day quickly colonised radio, and ends its first week with more than 700 plays generating an audience of more than 30 million and a debut position of number 15.

It is the first track from the veteran boy band's upcoming album, The Circus, their second since they reconvened. Their last single Rule The World topped the airplay chart exactly a year ago this week and has never dipped out of the Top 100. Ditto Shine, which has been on the Top 100 continuosly since January 2007
From Music Week

They're in I-D magazine with a brand new interview and photos. Would put scans up but that would be stealing, lol.
