90k at 11pm for +1 is quite a big figure on a Saturday night, so it's definitely down to the football that clashed with BB averaging 9 million

Plus, it's still up on last years equivalent by 40k, and that had no competition.

Yeah that's the only positive.

Tonight I predict 1.00m, or 880k if the match goes into ET.

Then we are free of Euro clutches on Monday, Tuesday and Weds. However we still face LI on Monday and Tuesday. Wednesday BB is on at 10pm so no clash at all with both. Thursday it's on at 9pm so clash with both, Friday, no match so only clash with LI. Saturday, no clash at all.

Sunday, clash with the Euro 2016 final and LI.... OUCH. Monday, clash with the LI Final.

Then finally from Tues 12th onwards they are both gone.

*mazedsalv** 03-07-2016 10:59 AM

C5 did beat ITV last night though

River Monsters mustered just 550k (2.8%) exc. HD at 10:15pm versus the big shootout on BBC One.

*mazedsalv** 04-07-2016 02:13 PM

I can't as I'm away. Can someone post the officials? Apparently they are out. Scroll to Channel 5 Total. Hope they are there

Rob! 04-07-2016 02:22 PM

I don't know about the officials but hopefully they'll detract from the ratings disaster that was last night.

Big Brother: 840k
Love Island: 960k
Both excluding +1

:umm2:

*mazedsalv** 04-07-2016 03:20 PM

Yeah last night was terrible.

But officials looking good (overnights in brackets)

Monday- 1.52m (1.10m)
Tuesday- 1.54m (1.05m)
Weds- 1.62m (1.15m)
Thursday- 1.64m (1.08m)
Friday- 1.44m (1.02m)
Saturday- 1.35m (850k)
Sunday- 1.50m (1.00m)

Average- 1.52m (Week 3 average for BB16... 1.20M.

Series average so far- 1.57M

Huge increase for the Thursday show, 560k. And around half a million for Tues,Weds Saturday and Sunday.

To note BB16 official average was 1.36m.

So far we are 210k above that.

Rob! 04-07-2016 03:36 PM

That's good. The next set of officials will be attempting to beef up nearly a week of sub 1ms though so hopefully it'll still look respectable. Bizarre to see it's not really lost it's audience. 1.64 just under 200k out of the official launch figure :clap2:

Jack_ 04-07-2016 03:40 PM

These officials are really good and are proof that it's a great series. What exactly is Frow's problem? He needs to accept that the Euro's were always going to be a problem and that Love Island did what he failed miserably at and that's premiering off the back of a stellar promotion campaign.

Big Brother's was ****e and as a result launched low and has sustained said number, perhaps if they'd put in the same amount of effort as ITV2 did it might be marginally higher.

But he needs to get over the overnights, people have other priorities than flocking to your crappy channel, but if they're watching on demand and +1 which they clearly are then what's the big deal? Oh that's right, you hate the civilian series and want to drive it into the ground! **** off

Exactly.

The week just gone will hurt it, but still we are at a 1.57m average. As long as it doesn't fall under 1.36m of last year I'll be happy I guess.

Hoping the half a million ratings will help.

Only Friday and Sat have been sub 1m with +1, others have been ~1.1m, i hope those still add on half a million to get ~1.6m average. Also, 1.3m for the last Weds so hopefully 1.7-1.8m for that!

Agree, everywhere I look it's "Love Island is trouncing flop Big Brother". The officials see them pretty much dead-on, both averaging 1.5m across the week.

daniel-lewis-1985 04-07-2016 05:41 PM

Look this series is adding over half a million in officials! That's huge!

Yes we had lowe ratings last week BUT I sincerely think the officials will increase also theres huge interest in this series and the way people watch has changed I allways watch on recorded so I can skip the adds!

The problem is with this (and I'm sure I'm not the only one) it brings overnights down and therefor doesn't bring the show the voting revenue with the live watching so maybe record 20 minutes in advance then you can skip the ads and still give the show the revenue it needs by voting. I can put up with 1 or 2 ads on evictions (I think proof of this is they have brought noms forward this year and opened lines earlier0.

In regards to advertising the show as does every other one does needs advertisers to invest in them and when a show is getting under a million some nights then yeah ofcourse Frow's gonna be pulling his hair out.

We need a series that averages like 1.3 overnight and then late 1 millions with the people catching up 1.8 possibly 2.00.

We are all to blame for the low overnights that's a fact.....Unless its the year 2000 and you're watching in Wales on S4C lol.

Ben Frow has allways spoken the truth and doesn't feed us bullcrap what other Channel actually seriously interacts with fans when they are criticizing the way they are running the show its so rude no other channel would be so open and honest.

Impressive officials/Meh overnights atm.

What I wonder is was this series actually only supposed to be 55 days? That's actually pathetic it gives off the impression that the shows been cut short which gives out a terrible image.

Love Island **** off you're a rip off of BB and I don't understand how with most of the time more people watching BB Love Islands contestants turn into overnight celebs when the housemates are pretty much forgotten.

Suppose its the same old age old people still looking down on BB but the fact Love Island is on an ITV based Channel then seeing full on Fkucing is acceptable?

I bet if BB went back to basics and was put on BBC1 or 2 it would be hitting over 2 million easily.

People are snobs.

*mazedsalv** 04-07-2016 07:01 PM

Inc +1, Big Brother averaged 1.01m (4.5%) last night.

Tonight I'm not sure. The plus side is that it is not facing the Euro's... minus side is that Love Island has been majorly hyped for tonights episode for a return of an ex to get her revenge on her cheating "partner".

So, I'm going to say 1.1m with +1 while Love Island will get a series high of 1.4m.

supertv247 04-07-2016 07:04 PM

I know there's a lot of hype for love island, but there is also a lot for the proposal on BB! I'm a fan of both (much more so BB) but can genuinely say I'm properly hyped for tonight's show and I think the proposal will boost ratings, hopefully

Headie 04-07-2016 07:17 PM

Well I'm watching Love Island live tonight to see Malin drag Terry, the preview for tonight's BB looks kinda dull so I'll watch it on +1

daniel-lewis-1985 04-07-2016 08:30 PM

BB's proposal has already been shown shown on the website and it was the cringiest thing ive ever seen.

Taking last weeks official ratings Love Island beat Big Brother nearly every night, the Love Island ratings in brackets with winner bolded:

Monday- 1.52m (1.54m)
Tuesday- 1.54m (1.58m)
Weds- 1.62m (1.53m)
Thursday- 1.64m (1.66m)
Friday- 1.44m (1.63m)
Saturday- 1.35m (N/A)
Sunday- 1.50m (1.61m)

Comes to something when a programme on ITV2 is beating one of the "Big 5" TV channels.

Rob! 05-07-2016 12:27 AM

Considering love island was struggling to hit 500k last year, it's insane how much it's climbed.

reece(: 05-07-2016 12:32 AM

I'm the only one out of my circle watching BB, whilst the others are hooked on LI </3

The ratings are still great considering though.

Love Island does deserve every bit of success though as the format and feel of the show has changed, I would not be surprised if the official rating for an episode of Love Island hits 2.00m very soon.

I just feel as though ITV2 would be a much better channel for Big Brother to be on than Channel 5 ever will be.

I agree, I hope itv snatch the rights when the contract runs out. Would love to see CBB on itv during the winter and normal BB on itv2 during summer

Itv would never go as warts and all with the editing as Channels 5 and 4 have though. Can you imagine the Laura and Marco stuff airing at 9pm on ITV?

Well they show plenty of sex on love island so why not

Jack_ 05-07-2016 12:51 AM

I've always been opposed to the idea of ITV having the rights to BB because their censorship is very heavy handed (I remember they bleeped the words 'arse' and 'bollocks' on IAC post 9pm once :umm2:) but yeah the Love Island edits are pretty liberal

So long as both versions aired on ITV2 I don't think it'd be too bad

Actually you're right ITV would never have shown the "David's dead" thing either. Channel 5 can keep ha or ideally c4 will snatch it back when the contract runs out
