i think they will dispense with the public vote part of the leadership election and get boris out as fast as possible. It's untenable and that can't be allowed to go on for months

Strictly Jake 08-07-2022 07:57 AM

As much as I disliked Boris at least him being so stupid made politics a bit more fun, I'm already bored looking at all these people

arista 08-07-2022 09:01 AM

He is still Prime Minister

Until he goes to the Queen.

I am going to call him Care Taker
but he is still the legal PM.
Until October
OR before then

James Cleverly is a total incompetent. He was incapable of explaining the situation. Boris resigned as leader of the tory party yesterday, thats all

Once he is no longer the leader of the party, he cannot make any major policy decisions. There is also the safety net that anything new or changed has to go to parliament for approval, and the tory mp's wont let him do anything. so he is a caretaker now because he can't do anything new, he can only monitor items already in progress

You are the one throwing around quotes and whatever as FACTS so the least you can do is offer some links /proof / evidence

Politics isn’t meant to be fun, they’re supposed to do their jobs without making too much of a fuss, I’d prefer my politicians to do their work in the background and only make an appearance for something important, they shouldn’t become the story, but of course Boris loves the attention and the glory the position holds too much

You make some fair points but I wouldn’t assume that whoever takes over from him in the short term and after the next election will do any better than Boris just because they’re more serious and less charismatic.

Right ok so let's take a couple of examples.

He called those who wear burkas letter boxes.

He has five children and had many affairs

He referred to gay people as bumbags.

How is there another side to those? When it's factually black and white

Compared to lord blair who had hundreds of thousands killed for no apparent reason..

Naughty naughty boris.

I don't really see the issue with saying an item of clothing resembles something else - wearing a grey trenchcoat might make you look like a detective, a tailcoat might make you look like a magician, apparently my favourite beanie makes me look like a malformed penis, and burkas look like letterboxes

No I'm not saying that, but I'm saying he made that comment.

Do you see him having done anything wrong? Like not just a slight mistake either
