…...well, she was family enough to realise that it was time to move on…no one knows that better than family…so there’s that…that team building obviously worked…:fan:…

…karaoke only really works well when there’s alcohol involved and that’s not really appropriate to encourage from a work place…

There's nothing quite like forced positivity.:flutter:

Or forced to be in the same vicinity?!!!

I'm sorry for what you're going through.

Forced "fun" is never a nice experience.

What's your go-to karaoke song? Do you have one?

It would probably be either Uprising by Muse or Song 2 by Blur.

What would be your go-to song?

Anything by Bob Dylan He sings in my whiney key.

I didn't even notice this before but now it annoys me every time - when people drop the t in Britain, and say "Bri-urrn".

Not that I'm a Little Englander and don't want the word disrespected or anything :joker: other mispronounciations annoy me too.

People talking far, far too loudly on t’blower.

The way Disney shows are devoid of meaning nowadays is … really irritating. I always hated how unnecessarily dumb Chelsea (That’s So Raven) got in seasons 3 and 4 (compared to the rightly-proportioned mix of ditzy-but-not-outright-idiotic and smart she was in seasons 1 and 2) but coincidentally her incompetence in season 3 measured up perfectly with the theme of the episode where Raven doesn’t get the job they both apply for. That’s So Raven was actually that show that was bold enough to tackle racism and … ya. They just don’t make Disney shows like that anymore and haven’t in the last 15 years, not as far as I can tell. This current generation of kids and pre-teens just haven’t got the goods streaming in live time anymore.

The idea that having regular successive showers helps you freshen up if you’re someone who sweats a lot. If your hyperhidrosis (excessive sweating) is that bad and the water’s not impregnated with sodium bicarbonate and geranium essential oil, you’s gonna sweat again while you’re showering so what are you washing away, exactly, if it’s just sweat and not general personal B.O.? How does showering 5 times a day solve that problem? What money is added to your bank account/problems sorted by having more than one shower a day? It’s a bloody waste of time and water.

Redway 01-02-2025 06:22 PM

Water being the only thing I can afford in the interim to payday.

Livia 03-02-2025 06:59 PM

The way ITV gives you trigger warnings for just about everything you might see in a programme but then shows adverts in between showing the most harrowing animal cruelty, neglect and abuse.

The decline in quality of subtitles recently.

People used to do subtitles, now text is generated from the speech by AI. I don't think anyone cares... The spelling howlers I've seen on the running banner along the bottom of news programmes is embarrassing. Also, while I'm on a roll, newscasters and other professional broadcasters not being able to pronounce words: Potomac, Grenadiers, posthumous. I kid you not... "The award was given post hummously".

Indeed. I used to be one and even then things were changing significantly and people were getting moved onto elsewhere.

I think it was just a case of people being transferred to another subtitling company but if I have my facts right, some people were actually made redundant. People thought the morale in subtitling was at an all-time low then (I did, but I was new, so didn’t have anything past to directly compare it with) but with the rise of AI it must be even-worse now. I dread to think. Ugh.
