A 21-year-old woman has been hospitalised following a stabbing in Stirling.
The incident happened about 20:20 on Saturday and the woman was taken to Forth Valley Royal Hospital for treatment with her condition described as not life threatening.
A 29-year-old, described by police as a white man local to the area is in police custody.
Police Scotland said the incident is being treated as isolated, with no wider risk to the public.
Posting on X, formerly known as Twitter, the force said: "We are aware of speculation and false information circulating on social media regarding this incident.
"Extensive enquiries are ongoing to establish the full circumstances and we would urge people not to add to this speculation online."

Blaming the rioters is like seeing a flood and blaming the rain Joey. Social psychology is a complicated and eternally frustrating beast... especially when it comes to propaganda and civil unrest.

You could blame the councils or the police too but ultimately all of it has been underresourced and poorly managed from the top down. The current government has responded poorly, the previous government was part of creating the knife edge that allows things like this to happen, but ultimately it's successive govts from all sides going back decades. And various other social factors that could never have been foreseen. I dunno. There's an element of inevitability about all of this - that's the truly scary thing.
