She was at the time I think. Now she doesnt and sells stories....the latest being she considered an abortion to go on BB but ultimately decided against it.

Will. 25-06-2014 09:47 AM

Jemal 25-06-2014 10:24 AM

You cant add up shares for different times lol.

Shares are live.

Anyway 1.1 is abysmal not even gonna lie.

Csi and even Dog Rescuers had a better rating..

Dog Rescuers interested 1.2m (6.2%) at 8pm. CSI thrilled 1.3m (6.3%)

Its really obvious now that big brother might have lost a good chunk of its veiwers and its nothing to do with the football ect, the evidence is growing stronger everythink on channel 5 is out performing big brother, there is a serious error of judgement here by producers.

CSI was on right before Big Brother, correct?

1.1 is embarrasing, I guess the only good thing is that at least not many tuned out after CSI :joker:

Channel 5 had a fantastic night.

Angry Britain 1.2m (5.6%) at 8pm

Benefits Britain 2.32m (10.6%) at 9pm (154k/0.9% on +1)

Big Brother: Power Trip: 1.2m at 10pm (6.6%)

It does piss me off they didn't release any +1' for their shows bar the Benefits one.

Why is there such a drop off after Benefits Britain it should be a great lead in for BB yet a million people switched off.

It had a good share though.

10pm is the latest a lot of people want to stay awake to especially when they have to get up for work early the next morning.

Ah ok then.

Its because its on at 10pm, that's why the ratings are so poor

What's the excuse for Paulines eviction only getting just over 1 million in a 9pm slot with no competition?

Didn't BB12,13 and 14 all air at 10pm most nights anyway?

*Waits for an abundance of excuses.

I'm not even saying that's the sole reason that the ratings are poor?

It's true though that most people who work and need to be up early won't stay up much later than 10pm on a week night.

BB has been on at 10pm pretty much all the time on Channel 5 in previous years.

Have people suddenly started to go to bed earlier? :o If so are our sleeping patterns as human beings evolving?

This is ground breaking stuff.

Thanks for that really well thought out informative addition to the thread there.

Samm 25-06-2014 02:43 PM

It used to get low ratings at 10 in previous years as well the ratings are down because it's on at 10PM and it clashes with the football half way through no body would want to watch as show half way through

But its true you cant blame the ratings on it being on later because previous series have been on at the same time.

When it clashes with a big show then 100% yes but it really hasn't for a while.

The world cup isn't really competition anymore seeing as ratings aren't exactly mind blowing.

To be honest my post was sarcastic but contained more facts then whatever you have posted in a thread about ratings. You speculate and I go by the numbers provided officially and last nights ratings officially sucked anus.

Samm 25-06-2014 02:55 PM

As seen last Sunday the officials are good, so I'm not worried about overnights

Its not really clashing with football now and last nights England world cup final attracted less than 6 million but then like I said that didn't even clash with BB.

There was no competition last night and it still got 1.1 million theres no excuses these ratings are so depressing.

Its deserves far more the last week has had me gripped its been brilliant viewing.

I wasn't blaming the ratings on anything though or claiming that anything I posted was fact I was just adding my opinion to the discussion but anyway thanks for that one line up there of really well thought out information.

What? The England game was on from 4pm till 6:30pm.

I think you're talking about Match of the day which got 4 million, not really a ratings smash either.

The world cup isn't really a massive threat now England re out, it still gets decent ratings but nothing really huge that dominates all channels.

There was no major competition for BB which got 1.1 million viewers just to reiterate last night.

4 Million is still big for 10PM so it is competition

Firstly it started at 9pm and the audience for that time slot is usually similar when the football isn't on.

The football is not to blame.

The officials are coming in quite well but im afraid that Viacom will be looking at overnights as surely people investing in the show want their ads to be seen prime time and not on demand.

Surely its not just me who can see these overnights are worryingly low.

I have a feeling civilian BB has an uncertain future especially when the match kicked of at 9pm and Channel 5's CSI was watched by 1.31 million in the same slot and other programmes faired better and had only a slightly less share on Channel 5.

daniel-lewis-1985 25-06-2014 08:28 PM

BB has a good lead in tonight with The Hotel Inspector which usually gets around 1.7 on average I believe.

Love it :) but dunno if it has the same audience as BB.

Cmon BB you can do it!!!! lol Get that 1.5 like its 2013!!!

JohnnyBB 26-06-2014 10:04 AM

Brand New Home for £5k interested 831k (4.2%) at 8pm, followed by The Hotel Inspector Returns with 1.34m (6.3%) at 9pm. Big Brother: Power Trip continued with 1.06m (6.0%) at 10pm. :joker:

Jarrod 26-06-2014 10:15 AM

Meh. To be honest the shares are holding out well. That's always a good thing.

Jemal 26-06-2014 11:00 AM

If we do get 3 cheerfull housemates friday night it will help pick up the show fingers crossed, but the damage looks like its allready been done now.

thediaryroomchair 26-06-2014 11:50 AM

Ouch, these ratings are not good at all. I am watching the highlights from last night and it is like watching Eastenders but ten times worse. Just constant arguments.

Kai Anders 26-06-2014 12:24 PM

The official rating shave been released from Barb, sorry the table is a little confusing but hopefully it makes sense.. Although the series isn't performing well it is however still near top of C5s top 20.

Scream 26-06-2014 12:28 PM

Damn...I know twitter isn't much to go by but the amount of tweets coming through, mainly about Helen made me think it was going to have such better ratings

Locke. 26-06-2014 12:32 PM

Destroyed by The Dog Rescuers, can things get any worse

Jarrod 26-06-2014 12:41 PM

1.18 Million for live from the House though

Loukas 26-06-2014 12:43 PM

The share being 6% makes me feel slightly better.. We need new housemates i think!

Jamesy 26-06-2014 01:59 PM

The share is good. The ratings on face value not so much. I think the first few days being a damp squid was enough damage to stop people watching this series.

1.18m for live in the house just proves that people will watch live feed too. Channel 5 are missing out big time on that.

RichardG 26-06-2014 02:17 PM

1.06m...

What was last nights excuse? Football? Hot weather? Everyone was partying? Everyone was sleepng? :(

I don't think its would get that now. That rating is higher than what the highlight shows are getting now its from a few weeks back isn't it.

I give up with these ratings last night was a brilliant episode but people just aren't tuning in theres nothing anyone can really do about it, it is what it is.

Hopefully they wont cancel the show. I cant even say learn from their mistakes either because this BB has got me hooked the house is brilliant, the housemates have come into their own and even though the tasks have been a bit meh they have been enough to cause fights in the house.

The biggest mistake Channel 5 made was not scheduling BB around the big football games and pitting it head to head. Shocking.

Yeah, that's a good point. I guess BB just has a solid fan base of 1 Million or so.

Samm 26-06-2014 02:32 PM

Football is destroying this season's ratings, that's my only view on it

Viacom take control on the 12th July so hopefully some news will come then
