Just got round to watching Tenebrae (1982), a film friends have always urged me to see.

Now I have but I was disappointed. The plot holes in this are ridiculous and the characters' actions make no sense, particularly the killer when we find out who he or she is.

This film scores about a 7/10 on IMDB but I just gave it 4/10. The special bloody effects are good for the time, but the film tries to be exciting and scary but isn't. It hasn't aged well. Seems more like a 1970 movie.

Check out A Woman In A Lizard's Skin - 1971.

An Italian movie set in London with British actors. I quite liked this one.

I give it 7/10. It's old yes and the print looks a bit faded but the movie is interesting and has a surprise ending I didn't see coming. :)

Thanks. That looks good.

…Heretic…Hugh Grant was hugely chilling and creepy…very tense and edge of the seat and very well done…7/10….
Spoiler:

….I didn’t quite understand the end fully…whether Paxton was dead or alive and if she escaped the house or not…or was the butterfly her or was it Barnes…?…so creepy.…

We've been working through the Conjuring and Insidious films again. Love James Wan and Leigh Whannell...

I love horror movies, especially Dario Argento. He's a master of the genre.
I prefer the less gory ones, the ones who are more subtle.
Suspiria is probably my all time favorite. I still cant sleep after I watch it

I really like this thread especially because I am not familiar with Dario Argento and I haven't seen Suspiria. I will definitely take up the recommendations... thanks, Ness x

Good One

6/10 - marked down due to sound quality, lack of major plot twist

I saw it on the Bank Holiday at Tyneside Cinema for £5. Actually I only went to see it so I could do some photography of the screening room, the Classic before the film started, to use in a later photography project.

If you like weird stuff

Try Gladiator 2 or Noah ( 2014 movie)

They should have been two of the greatest movies ever .. sadly not

Me and my daughter saw lilo and stitch at the cinema today

Ammi 09-06-2025 04:39 AM

…I watched The Sisterhood of the Travelling Pants and The SisterHood of the Travelling Pants 2…it was my second watch for the original/as well as having read the book many years ago…I’m not sure if the second one was based on a book…?…but I did prefer the first anyway…both feel good and light and very Sex in the City before the City bit and a very likeable cast…6/10…
