Those with tickets to see Lady Gaga when she performs in the UK this summer will be witnessing one of the world's most powerful celebrities taking to the stage.

That is according to the Forbes magazine annual World's Most Powerful Celebrities list, which ranked the Alejandro singer at number four on her debut appearance.

She was number one in terms of web visibility, while earnings of $62 million (£41 million) between June 2009 and June 2010 - with $31 million (£21 million) from touring alone - also helped boost her star profile.

There were a number of women on the list, with television presenter Oprah Winfrey retaking number one spot from Angelina Jolie, who fell out of the top ten.

Britney Spears, Madonna, Sandra Bullock and Beyonce all made the top ten, along with Avatar director James Cameron, who took third, Tiger Woods, U2 and Johnny Depp.

Alejandro was released at the beginning of June and was a top-ten hit in the UK.
