Johnson Eases Reds injury worries

Liverpool defender Glen Johnson insists he will be fit for Sunday's visit of Manchester United and belives Fernando Torres will be available for the game.

Reds manager Rafael Benitez has described his injury list as the worst during his five-year Anfield reign.

"The injury is a lot better, i will be all right for Sunday," said Johnson, who has been hit by an ankle injury.

"I think Fernando might be all right, but i'm not sure about Stevie," added Johnson, referring to Steven Gerrard.

Aquilani gives Reds timely boost

Alberto Aquilani pulled on a Liverpool shirt for the first time in a match, as he played the last 15 minutes for the reserves in a 2-0 win over Sunderland.

The Italian midfielder had knee surgery before completing his £20m move from Roma in August, but has finally returned to full-time training.

Liverpool's website said he "looked composed in possessiom and gave fans a glimpse of his undoubted ability."

However he will not be rushed back for Sunday's visit of Manchester United.
