Tuesday- 1.54m (1.58m)
Weds- 1.62m (1.53m)
Thursday- 1.64m (1.66m)
Friday- 1.44m (1.63m)
Saturday- 1.35m (N/A)
Sunday- 1.50m (1.61m)

Comes to something when a programme on ITV2 is beating one of the "Big 5" TV channels.

This is the power of a strong promotional campaign right here. I and several others were being laughed at at the start of the series for suggesting BB's promotion was ****e and that ITV2 knew what they were doing and that'd it make a difference and now look where we are, Love Island has gained a million viewers in a year and deserves everyone of them for producing a great series that in many ways is more Big Brother than actual Big Brother is. The snobbiness is so misplaced

Put the promo in and people will give it a go, that's the first step. Produce a good first episode and they'll stick around, that's the second. Big Brother did the latter but not the former whereas Love Island did both and have reaped the rewards. This series is posting consistent numbers, imagine what they might be if the initial launch figure had been a bit higher?

I don't think C4 will ever snatch BB back. They hated the show and would've found any reason to axe it and they eventually did and didn't Jay Hunt (the chief executive of C4) say she was glad it was axed and it's found a new home on C5 or s/t

C5 will probably keep it till 2020 (renewing the contract for another two years in 2018) and what happens after then remains a mystery

Love Island wins over BB, not by a lot as LI climbs 40k from the night before and BB surges 170k with no football.

Love Island- 1.23M
Big Brother- 1.18M

*mazedsalv** 05-07-2016 10:19 AM

I wonder if it will climb or fall today, hope it does stay at the 1.2m range (to be around 1.6m officially). If the football tomorrow night for Wales ends in the normal 90 minutes, then we should get ~1.3m tomorrow. But BB will be very low if Wales goes into ET tomorrow.

Then Thursday will be very low due to France V Germany.

Cal. 05-07-2016 10:21 AM

I'm sure everyone at Channel 5 will blame Big Brother being a bad show and not good enough to beat Love Island in the ratings and not the fact Love Island has had amazing promotion and Big Brother hasn't.

crazycolaist 05-07-2016 01:46 PM

Maybe the producers will finally pull the fists out their asses and stop living in a dream bubble because of LI.

Love Island continues to be ridiculous.

1.3m including +1 for it last night :umm2:

BB managed 1.01m without +1. Haven't found the +1 numbers yet for it.

Love Islands final is gonna hit 2 million in officials for sure.

Annoying BB was so low but the task is terrible I imagine a lot of people just switched off but after this I'm sure it will pick up again :)

Any news yet on that +1?

because Love Island knows how to do a show and they know how to promote a show.

It's funny how y'all complain about people comparing Big Brother and Love Island all the time yet whenever BB's ratings get posted in here they're always accompanied by the Love Island ratings too when no one even asked for them

*mazedsalv** 06-07-2016 02:09 PM

Inc +1: 1.17m (6.0%)

Love Island was at 1.32m with +1! LI is killing it.

Thing is, BB being 1.2m is the standard C5 rating, but it's getting slaughtered on social media because LI is beating it, no matter whether BB is up yearly. I can see why too, LI is a real hit, it's increased by like half a million from launch. That's incredible.

Because social media is making a big deal out of BB vs LI. And right now LI is making BB look like fools. And BB is getting slaughtered on social media. If BB was getting these 1.2m like it has been without LI competition, no one would bat an eyelid as it's the normal C5 level. But the fact it's getting beaten, is humiliating.

Jack_ 06-07-2016 02:24 PM

Why do they keep putting it on at 9 in direct opposition to it? It's almost like they want it to fail...

Gstar 06-07-2016 02:26 PM

I've been following love island vaguely and i'm secretly perched for the final

*mazedsalv** 06-07-2016 03:18 PM

Bet C5 are praying for Wales v Portugal to finish by the 90 mins and not go into ET/Penalties as BB is on at 10pm and is not facing LI and not supposed to be facing the Euro's.

Last Weds in the 10pm slot, BB got the highest HL show since the first one by getting 1.31m. I hope Wales beats Portugal (I hope!) in the 90 mins, so i can watch BB normal time!

If not, BB will be obliterated if Wales go into Extra Time.

*mazedsalv** 06-07-2016 05:21 PM

The ratings for tonight will depend all on the match results. Tonight BB doesn't face Love Island.

BB is on at 10pm. If the match finishes in 90 mins like normal I reckon BB will get 1.25-1.30m. If Wales goes to Extra time and/or penalties I reckon BB will be at 800k. That's how much difference I reckon it will make.

*mazedsalv** 07-07-2016 09:09 AM

1.17m (7.2%) with +1 for last night.

I'm a bit disappointed as it didn't face LI or Euro's... tonight it faces both!

Last 3 days.... 1.18m, 1.17m, 1.17m. Extremely static. Shame it wasn't in the ~1.3m range last night.

Lord Gavin 07-07-2016 09:15 AM

Did it lose to love island again

Nope. LI got 1.01m incl +1

But tbh that was facing the Euro's which peaked with almost 16m. LI was actually barely half a million away from the likes of BBC1

supertv247 07-07-2016 10:06 AM

I'm surprised it didn't add more +1 viewers last night, like last week when it got 1.3m.

excluding +1 it got 1.13m and Love Island got 830k.

Perhaps love island facing the euros is bad for BB, as it seems a lot of people then caught love island on +1 rather than BB at all (unlike last week)

Yeah, I don't get why only 40k was added when last week it got 100k added on.

Tonight BB is *********! Just 2 more Euro clashes (tonight and the final on Sunday) and 4 more LI clashes left to go....

supertv247 07-07-2016 10:47 AM

Mondays love island is going to annihilate BB in the ratings. Just as BB annihilation week begins

Oh the irony.

But I noticed that weekly themes usually start on Sundays as we then see it on Monday night, whereas this starts on the Monday so for us won't actually begin until Tuesday so at least it works nicely around love island

Yep. So much irony!

LI is looking to be 1.5m on Monday.

Rob! 08-07-2016 09:53 AM

930k excl +1 against the 8.56m the football got.

Will. 08-07-2016 10:07 AM

Not too bad, probs like 1.1M with +1

LI got 870K excl +1.
