Beyonce winning the best Country Album of the year at the Grammys.

1. Ella Langley and Chayce Beckham both had better Country Albums imo. And that's just two that I know of.

And 2. Some of Beyonce's songs on the Album weren't even pure Country songs.

I hold no personal ill will against Beyonce (I'll leave that to MAGA lol,) but I do genuinely have to question how much Country Music do the Grammys listen to when I (a primarily Rock/Metal fan) can easily identify two other Country Albums that came out in 2024 that were much better than Beyonce's Album?

It's a trivial thing to be annoyed about, but I hate to see awards being handed out that's based on name power rather than on merit.

Giggling/boisterous school kids in Costa. One advantage of Starbucks, for all its controversies, is that annoying kids seem less likely to hang out there (and Caffe-Nero at that) than Costa.

I’ve probably already complained about this.

The illiterate, blatantly warped nature of most public-post Facebook commentators.

(Big-ting, still) [p]eople naively looking back on the days of lynchings and no blacks and Irish allowed in pubs as the golden era of diversity, before colour became a dividing point. How can you not know that racism was a million and one times worse then?

costa glorified healthy female children being coerced by adults to cut their breasts off

I would never set foot in that disgusting woke company

Me neither. That whole campaign was poisonous.

Mental health issues talked about as a contrasting absolute, where it’s seen as either something you’re predisposed to because you’re a weak, vulnerable person or the exclusive domain of the violent, psychopathic and aggressively unhinged (again, big ting). You’re either a paranoid raving-psycho. hard-man with a murderous axe or a fragile lamb with dependent personality disorder. KMT, still.

There’s little to no gradation in the ignorant minds of some people.

Facebook and Politics is a cesspool.

I try to steer clear of it.

Two things that I can't stand with the topic of Mental Health these days.

1. If you have a bad day or just a bad spell, then immediately society starts believing that the person in question must have "poor Mental Health" instead of just simply going through a rough time, like everybody else has at some point in their lives.

2. Celebrities using Mental Health as a way to either get their name back out there, or when they use "poor Mental Health" as a way to get themselves out of a controversy.

I know that I can be irritable about other stuff on here, and I might possibly exaggerate my feelings sometimes about how I feel about certain things.

But the one thing that does make me angry, is seeing nearly everyone trying to claim that they suffer from poor Mental Health.

Imo it's a very serious topic, and I do think that it should be off-topic from attention *****s as they take peoples attention away from the real people that have bad Mental Health, such as Chester Bennington and Caroline Flack.

Men being called simps by other men just for simply complimenting a woman.

I know that simps do exist, but some guys have abused the term in the same way that the far right have abused the word woke.

It's just getting silly at this point.

As a country music lover I agree it was a slap to real country stars

The irritating advert where the woman is sitting on a rock having a date with some kind of octopus man. Waist up - man, waist down - octopus. I mean... what's the story there? What are they saying? What's the message, ffs....?

Naive mental health professionals insisting that major depressive episodes just last the better part of two weeks.

Two weeks is the minimum qualifier for a major depressive episode in the DSM, yes, but most depressive episodes in the natural course of events last months, sometimes years. And dysthymia (chronic low-grade depression, which, as it happens, can get punctuated by more severe, discreet episodes) is absolutely a thing. 2 weeks is the absolute minimum, not to say that the average episode of major depression barely lasts that long.

"imitation of the best form of flattery" nope. It's damn annoying!!!

Redway 13-02-2025 11:58 PM

People asking a (usually younger) pre.-menopausal woman if she’s on her period if she’s upset (not saying it happens super-often but obviously it does happen). 9 times out of 10, it never is that. Misogynistic jokes really aren’t the one. And people need to stop normalising painful periods.
