Imagine trying to broker difficult conversations with people who aren't our bestest friends in the whole wide world.

We invite the Chinese over here and call them friends, we invite Saudis over here and give them the full royal treatment. I hate to break it to you, but the peace in Ireland wasn't negotiated by everyone refusing to talk and act cordially.

It wasn’t negotiated by Corbyn either, he had nothing whatsoever to do with the peace in N. Ireland. Do you actually believe he did? LOL.
I hate to break it to you, but after the fact IRA members were quoted as calling him ‘useless’ ‘ interfering’ and a ‘ non - entity’. Which he is. And an anti - semite to boot.

I didn't say he negotiated anything. I gave an example of how negotiations work, and it seems I was correct to do so, judging by your continuously facile posts on any subject.

You've shown you have zero interest in the previous 80 years of Palestinian history, and yet you're focussed on JC inviting former IRA members into parliament during the 90's? Some weird sh1t running through that head of yours.

Oops, here cometh the nastiness. I've riled you, haven't I. :hee:
No use denying it. Bye bye.

Just matching your energy jet, but you don't like it in return. I can take it, but some cry off

Everything in that post is 100% true.

Imo I think that in this particular situation, Hamas committed atrocities (I mean watch some of the videos of what they did to the Israelis) and they didn't care about what the Israeli Government would do to their (Hamas) people in response, they know what the Israeli Government is like at the best of times, yet Hamas still decided to behave like Ramsay Bolton off GOT.

However I do have sympathy for the regular Palestinian civilians, who from reactions like this from Israel, will sadly now be even more indoctrinated into Hamas, thus carrying on this vicious cycle of hatred.

My question is, and I don't know the answer. It's a genuine question. Not a trick one.

Who are the biggest colonisers in the World right now in the year 2023?

I think that the nation that's the most likely to insidiously force their culture onto other people is the US.

Look at how many countries they've changed over the years.

Probably not a great idea to view me as the main subject in a thread that is supposed to be serious, because that would be clown behaviour, and I know for an absolute fact that you would never be the kind of grown ass man who acts like a clown in a very serious thread. That might be how some could see it. Definitely not me, but others might.

Besides which, it detracts from the rest of the thread which has been respectful for the most part, despite differing views.

Is this clown behaviour too or do you give yourself a pass?

But enough, I agree. Back to the thread topic for me.

Correct and this is well known and understood from history; the Israeli government knows this... they know that by levelling hospitals and neighbourhoods in response to Hamas, they will only increase their recruiting power, and increase the overall level of risk. So you do have to ask yourself - what is the motivation?

I think the end goal is relatively clear; to completely depopulate and eventually assimilate all current Palestinian territories into Israel.

And I think it'll probably happen, eventually. Eventually that map of Israel/Palestine will simply be Israel, and Palestine will cease to exist.

On the same level though, all Palestinians know what will happen to them if hamas do what they do...so why do they it?

And especially, why have they done what they have done?

Many neighbours on the Gaza strip share different religious opinions! It's not divided as much as people think.

I was thinking this myself, Parmy.
Surely many ordinary, decent Palestinians will be disgusted and angry at what Hamas has brought down on their heads by their recent actions. The loss of loved ones, their homes. Having brutal terrorists on your side whose only goal is to wipe the enemy from the face of the earth with no intention of compromise is only going to end in tragic devastation.
On a news programme today it was said that in a new poll, less than 40% of Gaza Palestinians would vote Hamas back into power if there was an election.
Of course it is inevitable that they will gain recruits nevertheless.
