Thanks because I would've missed that

Reports there will be a 2nd Debate

So the Democrats are saying?

Maru 11-09-2024 03:30 AM

The mics might as well have been open with the way the moderators intervened, we could also hear the other candidates clearly when they were "off"

arista 11-09-2024 03:45 AM

Trump is now talking Live on FoxNewsHD (online for UK)
at that event.

He said she is going to win

Commie la Harris will be Putin's Poodle

Trump aced the debate, hands down and Fox has the polling to prove it

Mystic Mock 11-09-2024 05:16 AM

Being completely fair.

- Harris won the debate as she simply dodged the fewest questions, where as Trump mainly kept ranting about immigration and taking the other topics off-topic.

- The Moderators were an absolute joke, barely controlling the candidates, and clearly had a bias against Trump.

Including the guy even having a borderline argument with Trump at one point.:umm2:

- The Media in general seem to be very in favour of Harris becoming President.

her key message is not going back to the past and turning the page. So she is saying enough to divisive politics and taking womens rights back 50 years

I certainly can't think of a more accurate metric of Trump's victory chances than a poll of his daughter's social media followers. :joker: honestly.

Maintaining women's rights is status quo - change would be removing them.

Though I imagine she's one of those who pretends to be shocked that working different jobs and/or fewer hours magically means someone gets paid less?

Just say you can't wrap your head around the complex sociology of income disparity between the sexes Oliver - it doesn't make you look clever when you smack a complex, deep-rooted and extremely nuanced inequality with a hammer. It just looks oversimplistic and dismissive.

Tell that to those who make it sound like they actually think that men and women get paid different amounts for the same job. Shorthanding it to "pay gap" warrants dismissal.

If Harris actually isn't aiming for the lowest common denominator and is actually talking about the things that cause disparity in careers and hours worked, then great! But I don't have high expectations from mainstream American politics .

Maru 11-09-2024 02:29 PM

Well that was fun last night, watching moderators tag in with Kamala on tasty baits while watching Trump hit himself repeatedly.

GiRTh 11-09-2024 02:48 PM

Harris won as we all knew she would. Anyone can debate Trump on te issues just as long as they get him to knd of stick to the issues. A well informed toddler could out debate Trump[ - A man who thinks that asylum seekers have got something to do with Mental Health institutes. He thinks the asylum is some kind of insane asylum. This is how clueless he actually is.

I saw a clip of him declaring that immigrants will kidnap and eat American people's dogs. Lol.

‘They’re eating… DOGS!’ Will go down in history as the most unhinged moment in presidential debate history

There's videos of the last bit, as if we needed to know this very critical info. It's making its rounds all over X. Not that it's anything I'd go out of my way to look up. I've heard or seen similar things and worse, so nothing really shocks me now. I took a 3-day occult course at the police academy (as a visitor) and there's enough that goes on in people's backyards that an in-depth course is even needed at all. Obviously the public dialogue misses this aspect of life. Most weird things that happened used to be learned from neighbors, "I would tell you about this but you wouldn't believe it"... but now social media also... and remember, everyone is welcome here  Just because it seems really weird and out there to us may not be so weird to someone else...

As for the rest, I'd say it's easily a Harris win and she came off the way she needed to to counter any negativity as to her personality. Policy is still lacking, but at this point, the performance was raw enough that if personality will sway any remaining undecided voters, then those votes are likely to be pocketed by her. She did what she came to do and she didn't need to do much else. I don't see her surpassing this high because the bar was set so low, so it will be interesting to see how this plays out until election day. Whether it changes enough minds that are left for the take won't be known until then. The media across the board are schizophrenic atm trying to cover last night's debate performance on behalf of their favorite, lots of counteracting of lies told and the other claiming nothing to see here... and it's just so tiresome. I can fact check for myself and I really don't appreciate the amount of interruptions last night by the moderators. I think they were going for ratings and trying to stand out from CNN, which isn't that difficult really... what the debate reinforced to me is I can't rely on the media to tell the truth... there's people saying "but he actually won!"... He clearly bombed.

Sticks 11-09-2024 04:48 PM

And it is all true, whatever those so called fact checkers say. Don't forget, the first three letters of Truth are also in Trump, as is trustworthy

Gusto Brunt 11-09-2024 05:04 PM

I used to be a Trump supporter, but last night he looked old and tired politically.

He's a busted flush. Harris will be the next President.

And I think Harris will win by a substantial amount over Trump.
