It's not a bad thing to be successful, but it's a bad thing to take advantage of the infrastructure put in place by previous generations, and then turn around and avoid paying it forward. |
i don't think anyone has a problem with Amazon paying appropriate taxes in the territories they earn their money, that's fair. However, you are misrepresenting what labour intend to do. The have spoken out and said it is wrong to be rich when there are poor people in the country, and they intend to do something about that. That's a far left policy and will force all our high earners overseas. They tried it before under Dennis Healey, and they ended up with less tax coming in, not more

The starting salary for police, firemen, nurses etc hasn't gone up in 10 years, and yet the share of wealth amongst the top is consistently going up. This is by definition, an unfair society. It's just disheartening to see people misguidedly doing their best to protect the wealthy over and above themselves. |

The two manifestos are poles apart both disappointing in that they are so polar opposite in their spending, one is over the top, the second too prudent, neither appeal to me

Bill gates stopped working and started giving all his money away in 2010, since then his wealth has nearly doubled, for some context on why such extreme wealth is damaging to society.

JRM avoiding tax on £150m is good, but we should stop giving the homeless money in case a few of them aren't really homeless. There are no better champions of plutocrats and oligarchs, than those closer to the homeless than they care to admit. |
