I'm an American, too. I didn't realize there was so much hatred of us here. I'm a liberal democrat anti-Bush girl. I spent a month and a half in China and loved it. I'm not very patriotic because I think a lot of countries are just as great or more so than we are. I like to think globally. The whole arrogant american thing gets on my nerves, too. People are people are people in my eyes, British, American, Canadian, Ethiopian, whatever. We all have our jerks, unfortunately.

Some of the hate is based on pure jealousy and some of it is because of the US attitude "we are better than you! we are always right, no matter what!".

I doubt that people "hate" the people in usa, its more what the people in charge do. I have many friends in Florida and Maine but I really dislike what was done by your deciders and the fact that you (the people) let them get away with it.
