No one is going to subscribe to Sky to watch Big Brother. Let's not kid ourselves, like some one has said above, taking a break won't do much good either.
The show has simply ran it's course. Some of the biggest dick head's in british society have came from the show and made well over a million from it and have very little talent. Just look at Jade goody, how the hell did she make the amount she did? She was as thick as a brick, no disrespect and all given that she has passed away now. |
so what is there going to be bb11

the only way they have a chance of getting ratings up is bb all stars...and i mean hardly any bb7 - bb10 characters
bb1 - bb6 that will get the old fans back |
Yeah but Big Brother is hardly going to be a big pull in for them is it? They have Skysports, Sky movies etc. Big Brother for me would just FAIL on sky.
|
- No live feed.
- Evictions talk allowed. - Housemates given outside information (the magazines). - Housemates given day trips out in the real world. - Allowing block voting to go unpunished. - A house full of assholes. What did they expect? |

Maybe I'm over analysing this too much, but it's certainly a possibility. |
The flaw in the Sky Theory is that Sky only poach successful shows. They'd kill for 2 million viewers a night yes BUT it wouldn't get that on a sky channel since it's a digital channel and not accessible to everyone, Hence why Celeb Hijack failed in the ratings.
I'd be very surprised if it gets picked up by another channel, people need to face facts really. The bubble's burst and BB has been dying since BB8 (although BB9 was a dose of adrenalin if we're to keep up the medical metaphors). |

HAHAHA! I'm sorry but Lost wasn't a failing show, it was one of C4's crown diamonds and they fought Sky hard for it. What you got to remember is that imports are cheaper then producing a homegrown television series. So getting 2 million viewers for an import is just as good as getting 3 million on a homegrown program because it will have cost less to get those figures. |
I think people would be interested in Big Brother again if it wasn't on every year. They could just put it on every 3 years instead of 1 year. I would love to see Big Brother on every year, but i could deal with it if it was on every few years.
|
Yep, simple as that for me. It's ran its course.
|
...did someone just say BB has a bigger following than Lost.
hold me dean... |
i didnt think diary room uncut was axed
|
I think one of the main reasons it hasn't had the ratings is because they've axed the live feed during the day. It's made a huge difference to me. Even if I didn't sit and watch it all day, I always tuned in at some point to see what was happening.

BB - No More
BIG Brother is to be scrapped by Channel 4 after this year's ratings disaster, The Sun can reveal.
The axe comes as barely two million tune into the tenth series of the reality show - compared to eight million only a few years ago. A telly insider last night confirmed an official announcement will be made as early as Friday, saying: "The reality is people are BORED with it. Even at Channel 4 the vibe among staff is that if you like Big Brother you're not cool. "If the people commissioning the show don't think it's cool, what hope is there?" The "bold experiment" that was launched in 2000 went on to make stars of housemates such as Jade Goody, Chantelle Houghton and the original Mr "Nasty" Nick Bateman. Deal But this year's dull crop - including mutton-chopped Wolverine lookalike Marcus - have proved the death knell. One final series - the 11th - will be screened on C4 next year because of the channel's £180million deal with the show's makers Endemol. But after that it will only go ahead if the production house can flog it to a rival channel. At its peak Big Brother was a huge money-spinner - generating profits of £70million a year. But insiders now say it is only just "washing its face" - industry speak for covering its costs. They accuse the show of failing to win over the "Facebook generation" after being watered down to avoid controversy following the Shilpa Shetty race row on the celebrity version. The source said: "The truth is nobody's talking about Big Brother any more." Fans of Celebrity Big Brother are likely to still get their fix of it in January - since that is also part of C4's current deal. |
WTF marcus dull????

There will be a BB11 anyway. Compare to ALL other C4 shows, BB comes 1st, and 2nd only to Location, Location. To still get the highest C4 ratings compared to everything else after 10 yrs is a good achievement,
What people dont see is the general C4 decline. When Friends was on air, it was hitting 6-7m weekly, with the final peaking at a huge 10m, these were the years when the huge Friday night lineup would be advertised non stop and acchieve big numbers (explains the BB2-BB5 ratings) .The Simpsons 2 years ago was reaching 3.4m and now manages only 1.7m, and Hollyaoks which was reaching 3m 2 years ago is now hitting 1.3m. Everything is going down, why just rule out BB? It is C4's fault for their own failure. Where has there Must see Friday night lineup gone ? The Friday nights changed since 2005, everything was getting cancelled(Fraiser, Friends, Trigger Happy TV ect...) |

CBB6 launch watched by 6.1m, after a terrible year and bad ratings dropping to 2m. BB10 launch was watched by 5.5m. That implies that people still are interested. I think it would be amazing to take BB away from C4 and put it on ITV, and they will advertise it properly, think of new plans, bring the LF back and we can be sure it will be back to 4m levels again. It would be great satisfaction to see C4 staff's faces if BB will be a success on other channels  |

I catch up yesterday and see them handed magazines articles about themselves, Two more just leave the house and go to London, the rest are running around the studio which really blows the whole psychological 'fish bowl' concepts, no nomination rules followed, HM do whatever, Who cares, People coming and going giving them stats on the popularity so why do anything anymore? What is this now? Just film 20 people in a hotel with access for anyone to come and go for a Summer for all its worth. |
