This could well be a dream.

Look up Astral Projection. You don't have to believe in Astrology or any of that nonsense but the practice itself is entirely real, but incredibly hard to pull off.

Essentially, you try and 'catch' yourself when you fall asleep, so only your body sleeps but your mind stays awake. Think the opposite of sleepwalking. In this state, you can fully, and knowingly, float about the place but most people cant will themselves past the first stage due to fear.

A common tactic is to repeat the phrase ''this is a dream'' before you sleep so that when you DO fall asleep, that is the first thing you think. Best tried when trying to get back to sleep in the morning, as opposed to sleeping for the first time at night.

If it all goes well, you will still be lying there awake, but your body will be buzzing all over [the sensation of your body sleeping, which you normally never realise as your mind sleeps too] and you can 'lift yourself' up and look down on yourself sleeping!

I accually remember watching An Episode of South Park even though they talk crap in it, they made the same point you did..

Where the Aliens have a Massive Planet and they own their own TV Channel,
They watch A Show called 'Earth' and then decide to Axe it because its getting out of hand with Wars and stuff,
Meaning the end of the world lol

There is a lighter version a lot of people experience once in there lifetime called lucid dreaming, achieved through similar means. It's basically when you know you are in a dream and you can thus control it.

I find it amazing that when we sleep, we basically live this second life most people ignore.

I hope everyone here knows you actually dream EVERY night? It's only the dreams you REMEMBER that you count?

There is another world going on inside your head for a very, very large percentage of your life!

That sounds scary,

Like in Ghost Whisperer!
Omg, I keep comparing all you guys Ideas to TV Shows..

Anyway though,

Yeah I would love to try that, Im sure anyone would but it`d be to risky, I mean what if you did that and thought it was brilliant and then couldnt get back into your body..If your looking down on it,

Its almost like dieing in your sleep and looking down at your Body from a Ghost View...

Also, DMT. Over to Rogan...

I didnt know lucid dreams actually happened...I remember watching 'vanilla sky' and wishing they could actually do something like that, which to be honest, come a few thousand years, they probably can. You dont 'die'...you just go to sleep...

That film is fecking brilliant, and very thought provoking...again, given that in theory, it could happen.

Another very good metaphor here, this time from Terrance McKenna.

If your mind is a computer, then everything you know, your culture, is just an operating system installed onto it.

McKenna is really worth checking out if your into this stuff. Also, I have the Matrix Boxset with the philosophers commentaries, because I am a gigantic nerd and stuff.

The first was definitely the better 'film' but the sequels were far more deep.

Doesn't work for everybody but it's an amazing experience if your mind and body relax and you let go completely. You can experience many things without the need of drugs and the like.

Not full blown astral projection, but I have had lucid dreams where I controlled what happened in the dream. The difference is I knew I was in a dream, whereas with Astral Projection it feels like you are floating around in real time. Most people find it scary and can never pull it off because it feels like death. I used to try it by holding a rock over a pot in bed, so that when I would fall asleep the rock would drop and snap me into the state. I used to try it at around 6 in the morning when I was most vulnerable.

I have been in a state of dream, when I actually consciensly knew that I was dreaming. I dont know how to explain it, but I knew I was in a dream. It has happened few times, and It was like I was watching a movie happen, with me starring in it. Just certain things happened, that made me realise I was in a dream, but I was still asleep. Its rare that it happens, but it does to me sometimes.

Talking about that...I can make myself feel high, when I havent took anything. I know the feeling because i used to take extacy when I was younger, and I can kind of recreated the feeling of 'coming up' and actually being high by thinking about it...its very strange...I actually feel off my face, very good thing to be able to do when you are having a crap night.
