"We" here are talking about this particular case, "I" think she was wrong and so did the police obviously!! Like I said she's entitled to believe whatever she wants but why force her beliefs on people who don't want it forced upon them, it doesn't seem Christian to me. If she's right and they really are wrong then why not let God judge them, she's not God so it's not her job!! |

Of course. And by your standpoint it would also be ok for the gay folk to arrive in crotchless leathers with glittery dildos and glow-in-the-dark buttplugs, being disruptive and hostile :) |

In my experience street preaching does not work, when we have done outreach we just had a stall so people could come and read material or chat with people. If someone asks about homosexuality we might just show them in the Bible, both Old and more importantly the New Testament why it declares it to be a sin.
However even such a low key explanation could be declared a "hate crime" by some who are militant about gay rights. This is the problem we face, and ironically it is the so called liberal intelligencia that shows the most intollerance of alternative view points. We already have had one preacher arrested just for reciting certain Bible passages in the street, just because they were those passages declaring homosexual behaviour as sin. If I add to the mix, the story of a headmistriss some years ago to show how some in the Gay Rights movment went to extremism. This was a London head teacher who was a lesbian. At that time there was an initiative to bring Shakespere to school children by a professional theatre production. The scheme was they helped the children put on their own play and then they got free tickets to see a professional show of the same play. The play selected was Romeo and Juliet and so this headteach banned her children from taking part because the play was too hetrosexist and did not present a good protrayal of homosexual love. That was tolerance was it not? The headteacher at the time was widley condemned in the press and parliament. Nowadays, I would expect no editor would dare criticise her for fear of the midnight knock on the door, and being carted off to chokey for being seen as homophobic for criticising a fine upstanding woman for trying to show such tolernace and protecting her children from a DWEM* DWEM = Dead White European Male. In the US their works were banned from being studied and the reason cited was the injustice of the slave trade??? |

Sticks, If people want to believe and follow the bible I have no problem with that, that is their choice. It only becomes a problem for me when it's shoved in peoples faces who don't want it there! |

Oh perhaps I was thinking of the big floats full of sexually provocatively dressed men hooting horns and pumping music coming down main roads then? They must just go down the gay roads? |

But I tell you: Love your enemies and pray for those who persecute you. ... If you love those who love you, what reward will you get? Are not even the tax collectors doing that? And if you greet only your brothers, what are you doing more than others? Do not even pagans do that?
Matthew 5:44,46-47 |
Why do you see them as your enemies? If you don't, then why is that quote relevent, at all?
