Really don't want to be rude to you but there's plenty of other threads about things you do understand and like for you to post in.

i know - but InOne bought it up - he reminded meee :nono:

Some people? That is not everyone is it. And alot of people hide it too, it is not always for attention. It is a coping mechanism.

Courtney...Courtney sometimes I have the urge to bash my head against the screen because of your posts. Urgh.

I hardly think you're the authority on why ALL people self harm though? Everyone does it for different reasons. Some do do it for attention yes, for others it's a release, and so on. And most people are actually ashamed of doing it, they don't wear their scars like some badge of honour! You're being really naive and insensitive tbh.

its called a cry for help.....you have no idea what your talking about, you dont have the experience some people do and im sure you havent had the same experiences that some people have but yet you write off people for being depressed (not saying everyone who self harms is depressed) or going through a rough patch, i'd seriously consider rethinking your morales and views on the subject before you post something stupid.:spin:

And the ones that don't do it for attention? You suggest they get help rather than do it, but if they get help they'll have the stigma attached to them that YOU YOURSELF just suggested i.e. that they want attention, or are sick.

I feel now like willingly reading Courtney's posts pretty much equates to self harm.

InOne 27-11-2009 10:07 PM

Sorry, but if was as easy as that, people would go and get help. But it takes time to phsc (sp) yourself up/find the courage, and when you do, something holds you back, I myself find that everytime I comtemplate telling and get close to doing so, I don't because I'm scared people will judge, not take it seriously etc..I have told a couple of people, one of them my mum, and she took the piss, and still does

Iceman 27-11-2009 10:10 PM

Yeah Bronna I told who I though was a friend and they told me to stop messing about....I was like cheers...

Your mum probably takes the pee as a diversion tactic. As a mum she'll naturally blame herself if you self harm, because she should be the one who protects you enough so you feel you don't have it (if everything was that simple eh). By laughing it off or making jokes of it she's probably hoping that making it light-hearted and trivial may stop you from doing it.

InOne 27-11-2009 10:15 PM

Story of a girl. Video could be triggering.

I told a friend as she was all, 'It's in your head you're making yourself think you;re depressed for attention" or something along those lines lmao
