Looking at previous seasons anything above 3.5m would be good but I think 4m is possible.Tonights episode was great so i'm not expecting any sort of drop in the ratings between tonight and tomorrow's HL's.If anything its going to increase for tomorrow thanks to word of mouth and the fact that Tuesday's always get the best HL ratings.

That's usually down to the nominations though. So far today there's nothing of note to be included in tomorrow's show, but I agree ratings should be steady tonight and tomorrow. Hopefully with an eviction on Friday they'll get nominations in Wednesdays show to give it a midweek boost. It would be a mistake to leave it till Thursday (or even Friday) IMO, but unfortunately in recent years the producers haven't held nominations in the same high regard as the viewers.

3.5m (23.9%)

With or without +1? Pretty strong figure and that will have been knocked down through late start etc. Last years equivalent got 3.1m on the Saturday and 3.7m on the Monday so not bad at all. Probably down to 3m-3.3m for the rest of the week now.

biglover 05-01-2010 10:59 AM

That is really good compared to the last couple of years, I think it will drop a little though each week night, but the evictions will get about 4-5 million

Gavin 05-01-2010 01:53 PM

Terrible ratings for last night. Three million have already jumped the sinking ship!?

If it can only got 3.4m for the first highlights show, imagine how highlights next week will do when the press interest dies down!

I knew having that awful task at the end of the launch would put some people off. Dear oh dear... we have another flop once again.

I find it funny that some people yesterday were saying that the first highlights should get 4m which would be good, but now have changed thier minds and are saying 3.5m is good.

Anyway, you need to believe me... taht I want the show to do well. But it's not unfortunately.

crossieKIDD 05-01-2010 03:37 PM

Wow great ratings tonights will be higher I predict :D

Jords 05-01-2010 03:52 PM

I think thats pretty good. And some might not have bothered with last night as it was the HL's of the launch, which isnt normally that interesting - although tbf I thought it was good

Its not terrible, but its not brilliant either. I think you're being a bit OTT. Once it levels out it will probably be about the same as last year, which considering BB10 is not bad at all.

Spike 05-01-2010 04:16 PM

A little under what I expected for last night but thats a good rating
With the snow across the country, it being a Tuesday and a highlights shows of unseen events I am expecting a little higher tonight maybe 3.7million

*mazedsalv** 05-01-2010 04:44 PM

Thats veer good for a Monday rating. Tonight as its a Tuesday, ratings should be higher, also last night was a recap of the launch for about half of it.

The share as well was brilliant.

3.5 million for a highlights show is really good for BB, esepcially after the last 2 series, what are you on?

Dont listen to Gavin, he's stuck in BB5 times.

Gavin 05-01-2010 05:36 PM

^ Well, BB9 had 3.6m and that was less than 2 years ago!

Yes BUT theres a possibility that CBB7 can OVERTAKE BB9, which would also mean it would have overtaken CBB6 and BB10.

All we are looking at is a 2.4m+ for it to be deemed as "sucessful" as it would have not come bottom (where BB10 is now). If you get what I mean, lets just hope that it averages above BB10 first, because we dont want it to be the least rated. I think thats hwo people can rate its sucess, if it beats the averages of CBB6 AND BB10... then it will be seen as a hit.

And if we go back to BB9 times, just 2 years prior to that was BB7 where the ratings were often hitting 6m for evictions. And whilst we're there, go back another 2 years to find highlights shows over 6m. Then going another 2 years back, highlights shows were verging on 8m.

You can't base success over a 2 year period. 3, 5 and 7 are statistically the most successful yet theres a downward trend amongst them.

Agree with every word!!

There could be millions of people tuning into the news tonight because of the weather.

Could knock BB down, the UK seems to be obsessed with weather, i think in February when it snowed a lot, around 7m watched the news.

That could level out with people who don't have to be up early tomorrow though. I think it will still be above 3m

*mazedsalv** 05-01-2010 07:56 PM

I would like it to top last nights 3.5m though!
3.6m+ would be brilliant :)

Positives:

Yesterday's Hls was half of what we saw on the launch the day before, tonight they will show stuff we havnt seen.
Tuesdays traditionally get higher ratings that Monday Hl shows.
It has a lead in tonight, which could help it further.
The press is still going strong about it and positive also
The weather

Negatives:

People are very interested in the weather, maybe will tune into the news to find about the snow.
90210 starts tonight on E4, even though it gets only 400,000 or so viewers, its aimed at the same audience as BB.

So overall... predictions??

Brekkie 05-01-2010 08:01 PM

The E4 scheduling is all over the place with Glee and 90210 up against BB, and then filler shows at 11pm rather than heading straight into live streaming.

Bit daft that they stick 2 shows like that on on the same night
