See!

And if people must know,I'm terrified of Robbie coming back. They broke up less than a year after he left last time,I don't want him destroying Take That again.

The original Sugababes were crap. The second line up was the best and its when they were at the height of their success. Apart from 'About You Now', they've gone pretty much unnoticed since Mutya left

I disagree. They were teenagers when they started out; so bearing that in mind their music was very mature for their age. They wrote brilliant songs, I still quite happily sit and listen to Run For Cover, Overload, New Year etc. The original Sugababes were awesome; as much as I like Heidi Range, she's not a great singer; Siobhan Donaghy could sing well and is a very good songwriter. And commercial success is no indicator of how talented a person/people is/are; as we all know.

Take That, would like to have the proper band back together.....without him theyd be nothing and vice versa......

Also Oasis just for the hell of it,

I didn't like their original sound but I really liked the second line up and most of their music. As you say Heidi isn't a great singer, but when you're in a girl band you don't have to be. They kept hints of their original sound right up until Mutya left, and once she went I think thats when Sugababes became a brand, no longer being a band, more so with the latest line up. At the minute they're releasing stuff that sounds like what The Saturdays should be releasing, so they seem irrelevant at the minute and have lost their mark.

No I know you're just winding me up :p

Tom 25-02-2010 11:01 PM

Robbie leaving was a catalyst for them splitting up ... a lot of their initial success when they reformed was based on nostalgia

Im genuinly not. They had way more fans back then than they do now. they didnt take themselves too seriously, unlike now. Without him there would be no Take that in the first place.....surely you get what im at here no?

Nooo.....

1.They have more fans now, didn't see them doing 1.2 million people tours back then
2.Take them seriously?? Since when have they ever done that?
3.Without him there would be easily be a Take That in the first place. Rob was the last to join the band,Nigel centered the band around Gary being the best singer and songwriter.

Iceman 25-02-2010 11:17 PM

yeah well I disagree with you completely....it'd be nice if you acknowleged other peoples opinions about them for once instead of just saying no. I know they're your favourite pop group but not everyone has to like them as a 4 piece. Im disappointed Laura :(

PS This IS A WIND UP.....GOTCHA

Enid 26-02-2010 11:13 AM

All that Laura is saying is, anybody who prefers the band with Robbie are not true fans! Jeez!

Princess 26-02-2010 11:33 AM

Eoin was kidding :p I was saying I don't know any fans like me(mental) who want Robbie back permantley.

It'd obviously be a huge exaggeration to say that the first line up was the best, because you can only judge them on one album, but I liked the direction they were going in, and obviously that carried on with Mutya and Keisha, regardless of who the third member was; but I agree, when Mutya left, they stopped being a band. When you're in a girl band, true you don't have to be a great singer, and that was true of Heidi when Mutya and Keisha were her bandmates - they are both phenomenal singers with very striking voices.

Ah I wish they'd reunite.

In fact, I'd quite like to hear all six of them singing together on a one off occasion, I wonder what that'd sound like?

What I'd like to know is if they ever did a reunion tour in a few years once they've finally split up, who will actually be the band? And if Overload sells any copies, who gets the money? The current 3 Sugababes or the original 3? And last point, if the original 3 formed a band and took their original songs, would they have to buy the rights and legally cover them? :joker:
