Editing is just as important, James. You think the best photographers don't edit their photographs? :P

Jords 16-03-2010 03:31 PM

Absolutely amazing Jaye, love the bottom 1!

Enid 16-03-2010 03:35 PM

I know that in certain photography competitions photoshop is not allowed. Has to be a naturally taken photograph.

Well that is different then I suppose. I think editing is just as important as composition, depth of field etc. Do you think it's "cheating" in a way?

I'm not sure really. It just leaves me cold, like certain films do when they play about too much with natural light in post-production. What can I say, I'm just a purist at heart.

You can tell when a photo has had too much editing and it just looks messy, but it's amazing what a touch can do. Just increasing the brightness or contrast of a photo or slightly adjusting the colours can improve the quality so much.

I'm just a purist when it comes to photography. Can't help it.

I hardly ever photoshop my pictures, just sometimes sharpen it or make it B/W.

Before and after. This photo was an exception to my rule of only tweaking slightly. I wanted solids.

Very minimal PS for me, if any. Sometimes crop or convert to B&W. Mainly as I'm bloody clueless with the thing
