She says some incredibly misguided things I hardly need to explain to you. Sorry if I am being realistic about it. I'm willing to see the room for improvement -a positive - in her. I'm not willing to cover my ears and pretend everything is super duper and that her views on things are a-okay.

I understand what you're saying and I agree with you but I think the older people, you included, should be so harsh towards her because we all thought differently when we 13 than we do now.

I don't think I am being harsh at all. I slam her music views. So what? It's hardly destroying her life. People always seem to make the mistake of taking this place way, way too seriously. If she never cops on to her riddiculous some of the things she says are, she will never change them.

It's todays loved up, back patting society that people like George Carlin always talked about, where we give kids medals for coming in last place - leaving no room or motivation for improvement.

Oh come on alot of people on here give her a very hard time, whenever she posts anything at all. It's not a case of taking this place too seriously really, it's just nearly eveything she posts at all is jumped on straight away, I'm just saying give her a break ffs! (not particularly to you but to everyone who does it to her)

Jessica. 25-03-2010 01:42 PM

She did join in June though. She has had 9 months to get the hang of things tbh.

To get the hang of things? What does that mean, that everyone has to act a certain way? and don't forget you're 17 Jess she's still only a kid

Twilight 25-03-2010 01:47 PM

I'm still a kid and i got the hang of things after like 4 months lol.

LemonJam 25-03-2010 01:47 PM

When I was 13 I wasn't mentally retarded tbh, so you can't blame it on age.

I am not talking about age Niamh. I meant to get the hang of the "forum etiquette" kind of.

"When I was 13 I had my first love,
there was nobody that compared to my baby
and nobody came between us, no-one could ever come above
She had me going crazy, oh I was star-struck,
she woke me up daily, don't need no Starbucks.

She made my heart pound, I skip a beat when I see her in the street and
at school on the playground but I really wanna see her on the weekend.
She knows she got me dazing cause she was so amazing
and now my heart is breaking but I just keep on saying…."

Don't call people retarded, it's awful.

I didn't realise there was such a thing, I just post the way I talk in "real life"

Enid 25-03-2010 01:58 PM

Deep down there is tbh.
Everyone has certain groups of members in which they feel comfortable, some are wonderers though. MM&I doesn't have much in common with many of the members and she tries to overpower everyone with her love of Leona thinking that will make her friends or she mimics actions of more established members such as posting random song lyrics. She thinks if she proves that Leona is the best artist she will become loved by all. I understand she is really young, way younger than me but she takes everything way too far sometimes and ends up ruining her chances of fitting in even though that is what she is trying to do. It is a vicious circle.

Enid 25-03-2010 02:09 PM

I think you have pretty much just described yourself, Jess. I get the impression that you try too hard to fit in. MM&I does not mimic anyone. Since when was posting lyrics actions of a more established member? Come on. You're such an elitist and it is clear you think you're better than a lot of members as well.

hhmmm, just sounds like an American high school the way you described it there, trying to fit in with the popular kids! If she wants to post lyrics, so what? I've seen plenty of people do that on here but she's the only one who's been chastised for doing so

That is really sad, Twilight. Forums shouldn't be about groups and trying to fit in. I suppose the forming of cliques is inevitable really. You're always going to get a few members that like to stick together. I hate it.

again going back to the age thing here though, most 13 year old girls want to fit in and be part of the group I suppose

Twilight 25-03-2010 02:16 PM

I hate cliques, i have a group i talk to, but we aren't a clique:/

I honestly don't think I'm better than anyone, not in real life and not on TiBB.
I think I'm worthless if you must know.

well, yeah, obviously you are going to have people you get on with more, that's inevitable but it's when groups of people gang up on one person just because their buddies are doing it and can't think for themselves is when it becomes cliquey imo anyway

Exact same mentality that a lot of bullies have. Low self opinion, make themselves feel better by picking on someone younger, weaker, less "established".
