i wouldnt worry about it too much there are a lot of people reporting the same problem basically they ban whole ranges of ip addresses that originate from outside the uk the problem being that some uk isps route their internet traffic via overseas providers and these get caught up in the block.
there will be technicians working now to weed out these ip adresses wrongly it will be something that was expected to happen and probably the reason the stream has being set up 30 hours before its due to go live.

incidentally to the people wrongly geo blocked who is your internet provider??

King Gizzard 09-06-2010 02:29 AM

Virgin Media Inc. is an American-domiciled British provider of television, telephone and broadband internet services to domestic and business customers in the UK, delivered primarily through its fibre-optic cable network, headquartered on paper in New York City[1] with operations based in Hook, North Hampshire, UK. The company was formerly known as ntl:Telewest following the merger of NTL Incorporated with Telewest Global, Inc. A further merger with Virgin Mobile's UK arm in 2006 created the first "quadruple-play" media company in the United Kingdom, bringing together television, Internet, mobile phone and fixed-line telephone services.

If what your saying is correct, could this be why it wasnt working? they might of thought I was in the US?

You can check your IP location at http://www.speedtest.net by looking at where it says your IP is on the map. :spin:

I am in Ireland and Channel 4 wouldn't even let me view the sign up form, never mind get a free pass.
