From the trailer I can't believe how much the castle gets destroyed. Its brilliant but damn, the four founders would be turning in their graves!!

The Harry Potter And The Deathly Hallows split point has been revealed.

Warner Bros confirmed last year that the final instalment would be released in two parts, with the second part arriving eight months after the first.

In a report, Entertainment Weekly confirmed that the split point would occur around chapter 24 of J.K. Rowling's book.

The scene will see Lord Voldermort (Ralph Fiennes) gain possession of The Elder Wand as he takes it from former Hogwarts headmaster Albus Dumbledore's (Sir Michael Gambon) tomb.

Faced with accusations that the split had happened for 'purely financial reasons', Warner Bros Entertainment president Alan Horn hit back.

"The key word there is purely," he said.

"There's no question that Warner Bros will make more money with two films than they would have with one. But we also never ever would have done this if Jo [Rowling] had not endorsed it, and if we didn't feel that we were providing a better finale, with a more full sense of closure."

He continued: "We just respect and love the books too much for that."

The Potter films' producer David Heyman previously said that the split point would be "incredibly dramatic, very moving and make people want to watch the next film".

Harry Potter And The Deathly Hallows: Part One will open in cinemas in November.

Interesting, would never thought of that point for the split.

Getting so so so excited for this now!! Currently listening to all the audiobooks, narrated by Stephen Fry. He's perfect for HP, he does all the voices well. Apart from Draco, which he doesn't sound anything like film Draco.

That happened around Shell Cottage which is about right.

There was a test screening last night and there's a Twilight reference! Not happy about that at all. It's just jumping on the bandwagon and getting the film and Twilight more publicity. Oh and apparently there's a scene in the film where all of Ron's worst fears come true including seeing Harry and Hermione topless in bed making out.

Smithy 22-08-2010 03:02 PM

I need to read the book again, because the split point means nothing to me

Callum 22-08-2010 03:04 PM

The film also is 2 and a half hours long and that's only part 1.

Callum 29-08-2010 11:13 PM

Sooo excited

Although the Harry/Hermione making out scene will be awkward, they are not suited! D:

Callum 10-09-2010 02:29 PM

Only thing I'm not looking forward to from the first film is in Ron's nightmare he sees Harry and Hermione making out. That will be awkward to watch.

Just to give youthe heads up. A new full length trailer for the first film should be hitting the web within the next two weeks. Before the end of September anyway. Heard on LeakyNews:thumbs:

Glenn. 18-09-2010 12:40 AM

The new trailer will hit the web on Wednesday 22nd. Only trouble is that its being released 9pm EST which means us the UK have to wait up until 2am to watch a trailer for a BRITISH film, adapted from a book a BRITISH author wrote.
Why does america get the convenient release times for trailers etc?
Its a British film?

Callum 18-09-2010 12:42 AM

I know, it's unfair! :( I guess they know it will do better at the US Box Office so they try and promote more there.
