What some forget, while they tuck into their festive treats, are those who endure another season thinking about those we have lost and are no longer with us. Watching those we have, for whom this could be their last.

It also comes when the light levels are at their lowest, and people with SAD are made tofeel guilty because they are not in the party mood.

While the world is partying on, such people are the spectre at the feast, best keep them out of the way, so we don't spoil the mood.

Christmas for some, is a time to dread.

Anyone remember the lyrics to do they know it's Christmas?

I do understand and sympathise with a lot of what you have said Sticks BUT we also need to remember that those whole love christmas should not be made to feel guilty about it!

Many many of us have lost loved ones - I myself suffer with SAD but do not let it mar my families christmas, instead I take steps to ensure that I dont!

So what coping strategy do you use?

When it the day itself, I am normally visiting my parents in Yorkshire and I try and hide away working on Dad's PC.

Other times it is just hiding from the world.
