Too many people in here had the misunderstanding Big Brother was simply moving to another Channel and be back as usual as 'BB12'.
This was NEVER the plan anyways.
Even if a deal was being planned it was not a case of 'BB moving to C5' like you would just update your channel guide or something.

EVEN IF C5 had this wrapped up they made it clear there were no actual plans to start a new season at this time.
(which is like saying forget it for at least a few more years).

What people don't really know (and why would they) but all kinds of television stations have all kinds of 'rights' to all kinds of programs long since off the air, never made, sometimes MADE but never aired,
some are 'shelved'.
Other times its simply a business buy-out. To make sure nobody else can do it.
Business stuff.

I'm thinking it would be quite cool if C5 got the rights and then maybe let a year or two pass.
then put together some entirely different sort of new generation BB which may even be an 'old school' purist version and aimed at an older more sophisticated audience,
but,
At this time I say it looks gone for a long time.

They have been emphasizing the 'EVER' part ALOT  And yeah, the whole build up and the UBB thing has been like 'Yah whatever' for alot of weeks because we're like 'It'll be back on Channel Five' but IF this random poster IS telling the truth it basically means we've all been slapped on the face with about 24 hours to go until the last ever episode and we've all just been told 'LOL No seriously, this is the last ever Big Brother'

Then I will laugh, you've been told this is the last one, they dont have to make anymore on C5.......its just people not willing to realise its been dead for about 4 years.

Tom4784 09-09-2010 09:45 PM

Unless a source can be provided I wouldn't take any notice.

I cant see channel 4 giving up BB to be honest...

It will come back in about 5 years as a big massive thing with no BB Sister Shows (BBLB + BBBM)

Wonder what channel 4 are going to do in the mean time... Probably more Come dine with me followed by an evening repeat of Hollyoaks...... you know thats what it is going to be ;P

Its the Thought of BB coming back 100% even if not at this time that gives me Solice in the fact that C5 might be taking over

C5 would be taking on a monster, thats what BB has become. It lost its innocence and integrity after series 4, from series 5 on it became a freakshow, full of wannabees, models, HMs with serious attitude and psychological problems, anti-social misfits and too many cardboard characters to boot. It was once pleasant viewing, I looked forward to each days viewing, but that started to change from series 5. By the time 8 came along I almost vowed never to watch the crap again, but I persevered, but let down again and again with the meddling, manipulation and downright fixing by BB time and time again. I rolled my eyes when Sophie won last year. Came to anger and despair when Hippo was GIVEN the win this year. Have persevered watching this UBB but to be honest I'll be mighty happy to see the back of Big Brother for a while. Give it a year or two or three, maybe C5 can totally reincarnate BB to its former glory. A very tough task indeed but hope they might pull it off.

BigBrotherOnline is just a fan site & their "insider" is just as likely to be someone on MSN.

cheapbbfan 11-09-2010 12:19 PM

Now its confirmed? I thought it was confirmed to be over last summer...lol

Jarvio 11-09-2010 12:28 PM

If Channel 5 do buy it, they should still give it a few year's break as people have already stated.

I know it's nowhere near a similar show, but I could use Futurama as an example, it was axed by Fox, took years absence after that, and then eventually brought back by comedy central and now it's massive again. Would be nice if a similar situation happened with BB.
