Go back to the R4i site and make sure you have downloaded the latest correct version of the software for your R4, there are several available, install it onto the r4 then try your micros sd card again.

It is important you identify the correct card you have first, then the latest upgrade for that card. There was a problem with one of the larger uk based r4 sites just after christmas this year they had the wrong software under the various links.

Reformat your SD card.

Good luck.

I'm pretty sure I have the most recent firmware on it but it I can't even get the the computer to read the micro sd card anymore so I can't reformat it or delete whats on it already :/

I'll try and be stupid and come up with some problems :)

I've heard that a magnet will wipe cards "clean" never tried it myself, and they might be totally unusable afterwards!

Stoopid Questions

At the risk of sounding stupid, 2 questions: does sending/receiving files via Yahoo Messenger (or any other messenger) and receiving/sending large files via email affect your bandwidth usage?

I doubt it does tbh.
I don't really worry about bandwith since I have 30MB broadband.

At least with TalkTalk you can open up your account and see exactly what you have used on a daily basis!:elephant:

Actually talking about Broadband USAGE, You should be able to find out from your ISP how much you are allowed per month, it can be as little as 20GB or up to unlimited. the more you get the more it costs!

Smithy 19-09-2010 05:08 PM

maybe I should ask something a little simpler, what's bandwidth

I suppose there are two things which cause confusion, one is the Speed that you get from your ISP usually laughingly described as UP TO 20 mb (actually more like 8 mb) and the other is the amount that you are permitted to download/upload per month without incurring penalties. Jessica has unlimited DOWNLOAD capability, whereas I have an 80 GB limit.

Simply put (maybe too simplistic for purists) every time you watch or download a video, e.g from YouTube, you are using Bandwith, measured in Mbs or Gbs - if you watch or download a lot you are using a lot of bandwidth.

Smithy 19-09-2010 05:30 PM

Ahh ok, well idk what mine is, it can't be that low though, because im downloading stuff nearly every day

What ISP do you use?

Some of them have a "fair Usage" policy which can be quite forgiving!
