They were split into 3 groups for the whole time, so that it wasnt one big mess, and so that they could be controlled easier. They were sent down stuff to do via one of the smaller holes that were made

ive watched this nearly the whole way through  I think I only got 4 hours sleep inbetween

Kerry 14-10-2010 01:23 AM

I saw one miner hand out rocks. Thing is, first thing I thought was "silly bugger, that'd weigh you back down there"

King Gizzard 14-10-2010 01:24 AM

Yeah the second guy was brilliant, I think they done it on purpose, the strongest guy first, then the funny guy, for morale

A great success it would seem :) I heard it's the longest any number of people have survived such an incident in history with no fatalities ??

King Gizzard 14-10-2010 01:27 AM

It's amazing how efficient its been, and quick

Wildcat! 14-10-2010 01:28 AM

Its qute amazing what they did! FIrst to find them alive. Hundreds of metres down. Then to provide them with food and entertainment, while they dig them out!

2 months to dig them out, taking all the precautions, and a rescue, like clockwork!
Amazing!

When I was watching this morning it seemed to last a lifetime and when the pod broke I could have wept for them. It was very quickly dealt with though. To think they were looking at upto Xmas down there :(

King Gizzard 14-10-2010 01:30 AM

Must of been completely hell first 17 days where they had nothing but rations, no light, nothing to do

But that last guy out made them all ration the milk they had, to last 17 days before they were found, its crazy

Wildcat! 14-10-2010 01:32 AM

Great story anyways! I am glad I watched the climax! It doesnt always end so well. NIce to see good news on TV for once.

Kerry 14-10-2010 01:32 AM

Like has been said many times today I'm sure, it does give you hope in humanity. Cheesy as it may sound, people DO pull together when it matters

Kerry 14-10-2010 01:34 AM

Eeeeeeeeeeek, showing my soft side

Nah, piss off you miserable lot.....

:joker:

Wildcat! 14-10-2010 01:40 AM

Its true though! When the chips are down, you do see humanity give you hope. Its too bad its only usually takes something like this.

I know. It takes all sorts. Terrorism. Serious illness. Death. Disaster. When you think about it such things shouldn't happen after the horse has bolted. You should embrace stuff before.

But thats a lesson I need to learn myself too

King Gizzard 14-10-2010 01:58 AM

I think the President has already left. Typical. There are 4 brave rescuers still there!

Benjamin 14-10-2010 02:01 AM

Glad they are all out and safe, they must be so relieved. What an experience.

Ithinkiloveyoutoo 14-10-2010 03:09 AM

Hooray!!!

It's going down one more time to get the last rescuer.

They should be livestreaming that actual last man. I would be scared ****less if I was the last one.

I don't know how a group of women would have survived.
I'm quite claustrophobic it would have been a nightmare!

King Gizzard 14-10-2010 03:17 AM

So theyre just going to leave all the stuff down there? leave the camera running? :laugh2:
