She proved she has a good voice but it was one good performance out of all of them. I'd like to see her attempt a few more songs like that though.

I don't mean the actual performance, I mean the surprise of the performance when I say epic. I'd never have expected her to be capable of that.

Iceman 31-10-2010 12:52 AM

Yes, it was the best of the night IMO, didn't see it coming at all, great way to close the show.

fruit_cake 31-10-2010 09:10 AM

I liked it a lot, but it's the song thats great, not cher IMO.. although she did it well.

Kaaarenn! 03-11-2010 11:35 AM

I liked her when she sang 'Stay' but when she raps in all her songs, it does get annoying so I'm glad she didn't rap in 'Stay' :) It was a really good performance from her :)

Livia 03-11-2010 12:15 PM

The fact that Cher's performance on Saturday was one of the best speaks more about how bad the others were, and less about how good she actually was.

No she didn't win me over at all.. Still think she's ****e, they just turned up the backing track a bit. Even I would win you all over if I had production like that behind me!! (and that's saying something)

Loads of people are saying she had thousands of pounds worth of effects on her voice as well as a loud backing track. The show is becoming a farce.

She has to have backing as she CANNOT sing. I think she will do well on the pop scene as she will appeal to the young uns and lets face it, you don't have to be a great singer nowadays to be a succesful popstar.

However, the XF is a SINGING competintion, therefore, in my opinion Cher does not deserve to be there.

Doesn't help that she, herself is highly unlikeable!

Stephanie 03-11-2010 01:54 PM

sounded out of tune to me, was alright. awfully hyped up though.

leahleaahleaah 04-11-2010 05:41 PM

i did really like her performance, however a few weeks back the judges said during John's tape that he would need to hold it together during the emotional song he did, and that he'd need to bring just the right emotion to it, but when Cher got upset during the song there wasn't a single word said about it :)

King Gizzard 04-11-2010 05:45 PM

No, still awful

Katie, Cher and One Direction are awful, they will never win me over

stewart64 05-11-2010 02:29 PM

Cher was my favourite, but unfortunately I can't seem to get Novo's picture of Katie in that fur hat doing her lippy out of my mind. So Katie FTW and Cher second.

Me too. She seemed OK for once, not half as good as the judges & audience made out though.

It seems like most people on here judge who they want to win by who they wanna sleep with,, :/ Wasn't this once upon a time a singing contest?

nanaimo 05-11-2010 02:53 PM

simple answer to your question, NO!

Tom4784 05-11-2010 03:00 PM

The haters are gonna hate her no matter what, she could end hunger in third world countries and people would complain she didn't do it fast enough.

She's not one of my favourites but I can't fault that performance, she performed to the best of her vocal abilities and she worked the staging of it very well. She's got the confidence and stage presence that can't be taught really. She's a bit hit & miss ussually but I reckon it'll be her or Rebecca that wins now.

I wouldn't buy her album though.

Do you not think its a joke though that they travel the country & search through millions & still cant find someone that can hold a note lol? Haters aren't always gonna hate, the fact is she can't sing very well so why should anyone praise her? IF she comes out next week & sings perfectly 80% of the "haters" would be won over, simple as/

She's not the best singer no, but good singers are ten a penny. You could be the best signer in the world but that would count for naught without star quality. Let's be honest, not many artists in the pop world are brilliant singers but they get by because they have their niche's and styles. Cher's voice is only average but it's her stage presence and niche that's got her through.

I believe in giving credit where credit is due regardless of if I dislike a contestant. I don't want her to win mind, she'll be sorted win or lose so she doesn't need it.

Yeah your right actually, thinking about it I like many artists that don't even try to sing in tune, thats not what makes an artist imo. BUT for me she has no presence atall :/ all I see is a whiney little brat that can't sing & is just copying other peoples stuff... badly. It should be about showing off your own talents by either writing your own stuff or making a cover song your own, not just singing it word for word exactly how the last person sung it, epecially when you sing it worse. I wanna see something original.

The way I see it is that all the contestants sing covers so you can't single her out for it and plus they don't really have much of a choice in what or how they sing it so I think it's unfair to say that any of the contestants copy other artists because it's all down to the higher ups who tell them what to sing...or rap.

I would like to see a round though where they all have to do an original song though, it would be good as you'd get a glimpse of what kind of artists they'd all be, although it would be a heavy workload to do all that in one week. Maybe do what they do in American Idol? On the finals the contestants pick out a song from the Winner's songs that weren't chosen (Unlike ours they're always original songs submitted by the public) and then task them with that as nobody would have sung it before so they'd have to make the songs work for them.

Beastie 05-11-2010 03:45 PM

I liked Cher last weekend and the other weekends too! It is great she did something different bar rapping. She's interesting.
