This year earthquakes have obviously been going around the world like a mexican wave. I think there was another one somewhere yesterday. I've been fearing since the beginning of the year that eventually something will happen in britain. I'm scurred. They better give us leaflets on safety. All I know is to stand underneath a door.

Are you serious? :conf:

Earthquakes don't happen in Britain often, so theres no point handing out safety leaflets it'd be a complete waste of money. They only occur in the after stresses in major faultlines in the earths crust send shockwaves down faults which lie within the UK

As Smithy said it would be a complete waste of money to go to all that effort when earthquakes are so rare in the UK, and when they do happen they're only minor ones

There are hundreds every day! there are no more now than there ever have been i wouldnt worry about it.

I used to have a cool add on for firefox that was set to make the browser start shaking if there was a major quake measuring over 5.0 on the richter scale but the damn thing used to go off so often it got annoying so i got rid of it!

Earthquakes happen in Japan everyday, it's just the size which causes the amount of notice we give

Scarlett. 21-12-2010 10:49 PM

Apparently you're more likely to run into a tornado here than in America
