And what is there to get excited about? Nothing's been confirmed yet. I think a lot of the difference in reaction to this between DS and here is down to age, the majority of people on TIBB have only been watching since series 6 or 7 or aren't old enough to remember enough of the early series to appreciate just how much the show changed (for the worse) over the years, the majority of people on DS (including myself) have been watching since the webcams first went live in July 2000 and have had to put up with seeing the show they've been watching for a decade have every last penny squeezed from it by £ndemol over the last 5 or 6 years then left to fade into oblivion, with age and experience comes weariness and skepticism.

I have watched BB since series 1. Anyway I do prefer TIBB. And also I appreciate the members in TIBB for being so enthusiastic and excited about a strong possibility for a return of BB. The producers of BB need to visit this site for Ideas too and not just bum DS. If they see now how lack of enthusiasm DS has for a possibility return of BB then they might decide not to go ahead with BB :( I hope the producers of BB are more open minded and visit other BB sites too. I do look on DS. Once I tried to sign up but it wouldn't let me and at the time you had to pay a fiver. Just think it's easier if I stay here then and pop on a Neighbours site now and again

Everyone and anyone is welcome here. The more the merrier. Even DS members.

I hope for more members to come here who are "insiders" of BB too :) Please!

It's interesting to note that all those that put down the site here have some sort of grudge to bear (being banned, unable to register etcetera) you rarely hear in threads like these comments of that nature from never banned, currently active members (well, you get the odd comment on DS itself criticising the direction the ownership are taking the main site / some of the more extreme views of some members but rarely the forum as a whole and usually in dispair rather than out of hate).

My posting style is unwieldly enough as it is.

Why would unbanned, active DS members come here ?

Why not? I'm a member of several different fansites dedicated to the same cult shows. With different demographics and a different set of members, you can get a perspective on one you wouldn't on the other and vice versa and in the case of a show with as dedicated a following as BB it's useful to have a back up forum when the other goes down during live shows.

What about it was dull and in forum terms how do you define dull?

I don't have a grudge against it all. I am on TIBB quite a lot. If I was a member of DS it would take up my life I bet  I like to nosey on DS. To be honest I havn't noseyed all the way through it yet because it's so massive!! I would love to see more mature members from DS to come here. However at the same time some DS members can complain a lot and be bitter. Suppose some TIBB members can be like this too.

That may apply to you, but not the thousands of other unbanned, active DS members - they prefer the safety of their AT's ..... :yuk:

I used to mostly frequent the soaps forum on DS & believe me that place is RUN by 12 year old girls who are EastEnders fans...

If anyones dares to EVER say anything remotely negative about EastEnders, all of a sudden hundreds of pre-pubescents launch at you & they then trawl back through your posting history & find a post that goes against one of their 8456 rules & you are promptly given a ban... That happened all the time... Sad.

We just complain over different things.

On TIBB, negativity about the show makes you unpopular.

On DS, txt speak and the like makes you unpopular.

It's interesting that you appear to almost be a PR person for Digital Spy, yet feel the need to be on here too... ;)

I don't hold a grudge, I just gave up creating new accounts because the place was a joke...

Yeah, that's the truth ..... :wavey:

I got temporary bans for criticising forum favourites like Chanelle - I was "mobbed" by pre-pubescents .....

Same here. There are always members correcting other members grammar and pronunciation. "You have been educated".

I think a lot of TIBB members are just as intelligent as DS members. It's just more open and lenient here.

The soaps forum along with the showbiz forum can be awful, but the inhabitants of those two forums are not the same people that inhabit the cult, politics or the advice sections, they're not even the same people who inhabit eachother's sections, this is what I mean about DS being a bit cliquey at times, people who inhabit a certain section more than others will be closer to those members than they will be to the members of another section and different sections can sometimes put eachother down. It's such a massive site, that unless you belong to a clique or have been around a long time, your gonna sometimes feel like it's them vs you when you piss people off.

Trust me, not with nearly as pedantically as on DS, the grammar / liberal sprinkling of profanity in 80% of the posts in this thread and 90% of posts in some others would earn you a shunning on DS. Use a single slang term in a thread opening post and the whole thread will end up centring around the fact that you did so. A typo can see you ridiculed in some sections.

Didn't say they weren't (though with a membership that as I said made up of everyone from lawyers, to amateur astronomers, I would say DS has the edge over most forums in that respect, probably why it can come accross so uptight and pedantic when compared to the mostly college-age TIBB). As to TIBB being more leniant, again, this site is tiny in comparison to the DSBB let alone DS as a whole, and DS is run by a private company rather than an individual and some volunteers. The pressure on DS to be strict in the appliances of the site's terms is greater than the pressure on TIBB.

I'm not, I'm having a reasoned and democratic discussion/debate (the purpose of an open forum forum).

It's all too easy on a site, obviously and undestandably biased toward one side of the argument to just spend the thread venting. A reasoned and fair debate in which both points of view are aired is much more preferrable.
