It's sold over 1,000,000 copies in 5 days on iTunes alone, so that's excluding physical copies, Amazon etc regardless of if it's a good song, it's broke dozens of records and sold bucket loads, in no way is that a flop

Here we go, the old MM&I style bollocks about how much records it sold.

Compared to her other big singles, Born This Way was an epic fail.
Yes it is a flop, Just read through this thread to see why it is a Flop, the others have pointed it out.

Practically no one talking about the way they were about Poker Face, Just Dance, Bad Romance and Telephone.

Tons of bad reviews on YouTube about the song.

Even big fans of GaGa don't like it.

Y'all just wanna see Gaga fail. She quite clearly hasn't so hush. Number 3 is not a fail in my books so there.

Scarlett. 20-02-2011 09:52 PM

I used to really like Gaga back when she released Poker Face/Lovegame/Just Dance - then I liked her, but not as much through Telephone/Bad Romance. Now though, I'm just bored, and the song is a little dull.

Okay, first of all I've actually heard a lot of people talking about it at my school so idk about yours. :/

Secondly people slating it on YouTube don't mean much. Its the critical reviews that matter and the majority of those are positive.

And lastly I think most of them love it. Which big Gaga fan has said they dislike Born This Way? Pretty much every other Gaga fan I know is in love with the song. :L

Err, no it isn't none of her other songs sold that fast as this, you need to look up the word flop to, because selling 135 copies in 7 days in the UK isn't a flop :joker: and regardless of what a bunch of people on a big brother forum think or a bunch of wannabe critics on youtube think, actual critics are praising it, and idk where you heard that because all the fans ik like it.

Third is better than fourth or fifth. :nono: Gaga will be pleased with third place I should imagine.

MTVN 20-02-2011 09:56 PM

I know you & Niall love Gaga and everything Smithy but come on, you have to admit this is a bit of a flop, at least here in the UK anyway.

Niall 20-02-2011 09:57 PM

3rd place isn't really a flop. 5th or below would be. She's in the top 3. :/

How :conf2:

It sold 135,000 in it's first 7 days, I don't see how that's a flop

None of her other songs were hyped up for about 8 months before it actually came out, thats the reason it sold so much. Do you really think it would have sold so many without that? :L

Gaga fans need to admit the song is weak and the only reason its were it is is on the back of the hype and her previous big hits.

If the song is so weak then why are critics giving it positive reviews? Your just saying that because you don't like the song.

But surely you expected it to be number 1? It's been hyped for ages, been out since last friday and since then she performed it elaborately at the grammy & it's been played quite a lot on the radio. Compare that to Adele, I dont think very many people knew anything of her song until tuesday, she didnt receive very much promo for it and it was essentially her one performance at the Brits which won it for her. And Jessie J's Price Tag has been out for quite a while now, I would have thought that most people would have expected BTW to easily be number 1 this week

I do like the song but its no Bad Romance/Poker face.

Last time I looked it was getting heavily critisised about the Madonna simularity so it can't be getting that good reviews.

She hasn't done any interviews in the UK, TV or Radio so noone here has been exposed to the hype like they have in the US, unless they've gone looking for it online.

And it's weak in comparison to Bad Romance, but none of her other singles, but even then critics have all praised it

It's not that much of a flop, the amount of sales it clocked up in the time frame it has been out is amazing.

Just because it didn't make number 1. If the Brits had not been this week, she probably would have got to #1.

I am glad Adele got there this week though as that song is amazing and it's about time she went to number 1. :)

It's been out a week and 2 days, no video and it's @ #3, y'all seem to think that it's over and it won't climb anymore, which it probably will when the video is released. The Grammys were aired on ITV2 and got about 200k viewers, which is hardly anything. And loads of people knew about Adele's song it was already in the top 40 before last week

I actually prefer it to Bad Romance. I think Bad Romance got a bit overplayed so I've gone off it a lil bit.

But the song is getting good reviews though, look.

Stop citing music critics. They mean nothing.

It jumped 46 places this week though, all because of one performance on the Brits, it didnt need a video or that much promo, it's not even a single. Is it too hard to believe that maybe people just like Adele's song more? :p It is a really good song

Tom4784 20-02-2011 10:13 PM

For a first single of a new album it's terrible, given the hype and who she is she should have easily claimed number 1 given her compettion. Paparazzi got no3 and that was like a 3rd/4th single. It's a terrible song and it's only the Gaga fans that have got it to where it is and it won't go any higher now if it can't beat such easy competition in it's first full week of sales.

Oh please. If it got #5 you'd be saying "top 5 isn't a flop, 10th or below would be". If it got #10 you'd say "20th or below would be."

Enough of the delusion. Please.

It was @ 30 something last week :conf2: it was in the chart show last week, and it is a single http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Someone...ou_(Adele_song) :conf2:

And I'm not saying people like it more, I'm just saying Born This Way didn't flop f/
