KG = Female
Pyramid* = Female
LostAlex = Male
Liberty4Ever = Female
Omah = Female
Vicky = Female?

Sorry I have to know if any of the above are wrong.

:hugesmile:

ukturtle, your old signature of Allanis Morisette's "Thank You" video brought back some good teenage memories. :blush2: I think that'll be enough for you to figure out my gender.

Hey angus, you might still be pissed off at me because of the abortion debate but thanks for remembering that. I hope I don't regret giving out my real name. :)

There's still some members who I don't know if they are male or female, and not gonna ask lol. Has there ever been/could there be a system where a male/female symbol goes under a persons avatar?

To be honest, there are some members on here who wish to remain androgynous but most people don't care about people knowing their gender. There definitely used to be an icon where a male or female system went under each FM's avatar (unless they didn't want people to know) but they stopped doing that ages ago. I know because I read a thread about it a couple of months back. You could try contacting James to see if he can get it back or something.

I don't see why it's so important really, I quite like the anonmyity of it personally. I guess some like it to be known and others don't. The problem comes around when you speak about the person in the third person I guess.

I agree with this. I'm an 18-year-old male and I have no problem with people knowing that but some are far more private and I have immense respect for that. Nobody has to do anything and if they don't want to be known as male or female or how old they are that's fine.

On a separate note, I imagine the majority on here don't mind people knowing their gender, so I actually think Kate's idea isn't bad. You could subscribe to the icon or something if you wanted people on here to know your gender.

yes, I don't mind really, I like people for who they are regardless, it's just that sometimes I've referred to someone as specifically male or female purely because in my mind I thought they were, and it turned out not to be the case. No-one has ever taken offence though, and it's only been twice that I recall, so all's good :)

There used to be gender icons on the right hand side of our names iirc. It shouldn't matter too much anyway unless you're hitting on someone :p
