In a way I think BB10 tried to do that and that's why the producers didn't interfere too much (but when it did it was awful decisions such as Kenneth, Isaac, magazine scandal). The problem with the HMs in BB10 was that they were still characters. You had Siavash (Rasputin!), Angel (WTF?) and Marcus (Wolverine!) and from the moment they entered the house they were judged for being weird.

BB11's lot were a lot more normal in comparison. Once you get over the shock of Steve not having any legs or that he has 1 eye he was very normal. The only 3 people I'd say that appeared as 'characters' on launch night were Shabby (which she was), Corin (Jordan wannabe) and Dave (monk!) whilst Mario was made to wear the mole outfit. Take off the costumes and they're suddenly normal people.

The thing that worries me about BB on Channel 5 is that apparently Desmond still wants a 13 week BB12 but reportedly with normal HMs again. Because it'll be so soon after the 4 week CBB I'm kinda worried it'll drag on and be too boring and so they'll inevitably have to rely on the same old tricks even if 5 won't be as watered down as Channel 4's later days

BB4 and BB11 had pretty much "normal" housemates. But they both turned out to be boring series.

BB10 had the most unlikeable housemates which is why it became mentally draining and people started turning off.

We need likeable, interesting, entertaining housemates. Sure we need a few unlikeable to cause fireworks. Even likeable characters fall out with each other because they are threatened that the other one will win.

Anyway we need a mixture of all people. Both "normal" people and freaks. Just please don't choose anyone Boring. I doubt Desmond will!

Agreed. She shouldn't have been kicked out charley and nicki said the same word in the same context after she did and because they are black didn't get punished. It was rasism kicking her out. Just because she was White why can't she say the same word black people can say. If she had said it in a bullying way it would have been unacceptable but she wasn't malicious atall she said it in the way rappers say it. If eminem put it in one of his songs it would be considered 'fine'

i dont get it, everyone used to watch big brother! it used to have really high rating, what the hell happend to it?

The answer to that is simplicity itself. Ofcom and the PC brigade that activate Ofcom is what happened to BB. Also a bunch of PC puritanical scared of authority knob heads at CH4

People just get bored of seeing the same thing so gradually switch off.

It would have gradually lost viewers no matter what they did tbh. By BB4 viewers were tired of normal HMs. Then by BB8 they were tired of loud attention ***** HMs. Since then its just been clinging on to its hardcore audience.

Worldwide its no longer a huge deal so the format has obviously just got tired.

Dont get me wrong, it's a shame she died early but dont blame Shilpa for "ruining her life"

She was not racist.. get it into your head!

I agree again MTVN, I personally liked Jade and it was sad her untimely end to her life but Shilpa should never have been subjected to the onslaught of viciousness she got from Jade and co.

It was and always will be indefensible behaviour and wrong.

Shilpa provocked the situation completly and played a big part in it. :nono:

Don't be so stupid!
Jade was not racist and Shilpa did not "handle it like a lady".. She was a stuck up, patronising, selfish, snobby biitch.

You say "Shilpa done nothing to Jade in that house" - Yes.. she did. She tried to minipulate Jade and was very patronising to her, she tried to make Jade feel worthless and small. Shilpa thought she was better than her.. When she wasn't and far from it.

You liked Shilpa, I get that but take the blinkers off ffs :bored::rolleyes:

You need to tone it down and stop insulting people. If you want to discuss this with me please do me the courtesy of not calling me names in the process. Thanks.
