i think PG 13 is the US equivalent of 12 but thats still not good enough -bangs fist on table-

Oh right, not as bad I suppose but 15s would still be better, I think it's going too be way to watered down :bored:

Shaun 31-01-2012 04:46 PM

hmm, 12 isn't too bad. Suckerpunch was a 12 here. But it'll probably be so watered down :(

scott don't read
Spoiler:

I doubt they'll show Cato breaking the District 3 boy's neck with his hands, or Trench using a rock to bash in District 2-girl's skull, if it's a 12

Tom4784 31-01-2012 04:54 PM

They could still make it brutal without needing to resort to buckets of blood. I reckon most of the violent scenes will be kept but they'll just be more creative in how they present it.

Sounds and implied violence can be just as effective as showing the gore in all it's glory.

I agree, I think 12 rating could work really, PG is a different story.

I suppose this is true.

It kinda makes me glad tbh, because I can't take gore in films or tv shows. It makes me feel ill.

From what I've seen of the cast so far, they did a pretty good job. Not far off what I had pictured in my head while reading the books

Yeah, I thought the same.

Effie was a spitting image of the woman I had in my head. So were Katniss and Peeta.

I'm just praying that the plot line doesn't deviate from the books too much. :suspect:

Tom4784 01-02-2012 11:39 AM

From what I've heard they've stuck to the books quite religiously.

Yeah, Peta especially was spot on for me, I did have a picture of Saoirse Ronan in my head for Katniss but Jennifer lawerence is good too.

And yeah, me too, although something I wouldn't mind them changing is :

Spoiler:

Seeing it from other peoples perspectives not just Katniss', that way they could add in bits that we didn't see in the book, like them rescuing Peta and what actually happened to him while he was kept a prisoner and stuff

I hope they have. I don't want it to turn out the way the Twilight series did. The books (in my opinion at least) were pretty damn good, but then Summit got their hands on them and messed around with the plot lines and characters. :bored:

Same. They've gotten everything perfect so far. And from what I saw of the Capitol in the trailer, that was spot on too.

The only thing that didn't match my imagination was the snippet of District 12 they showed. I imagined it to be a lot more dreary, and nowhere near as green and lush as it was.

I know what you mean but...:

Spoiler:

... unless they talk to Suzanne Collins about what to add in and how to do the scenes it'd probably go really wrong.

I like the mystery of what Peeta was doing too. I think it would help to endear the audience towards him.

Fetch The Bolt Cutters 02-02-2012 06:25 AM

finished the first book last night :worship:

Spoiler:

i really do not see how they can pull off catos death with a 12 rating :/ it was so gruesome

loved foxfaces death and the suicide pact at the end but i wonder if they really would have done it :suspect:

and  @ peeta at end, earlier in the book i really did think he was playing a game but obviously not

Niall 02-02-2012 05:39 PM
