I think Albert Tatlock lived at number one in the beginning, but not sure if Ken lived there too or did he live in another house at any other time.

Also I struggle to remember where Ivy & Bert lived, were they living in the Duckworths house originally ?

I remember the Ogdens living at number 13 before the Websters took over, Kevin was a lodger at the Ogdens if I remember correctly.

Has Emily always lived in the same house, she's always with lodgers. I remember Curly and Spider living with her years ago.

Chewy, do you know which house has had the most residents living in it ?

He lived at No.13 (Emily's house) then moved to the Maisonettes, then back to No.13, then to No.11 (Eileen's house) then to No.1 :p

Emily lived in Rosamund Street to start off, then to the Corner Shop flat, then No.11, then she moved to No.3 :D

I'd say No.11 has had the most

Also, a bit of trivia, No.6, now know as the Windasses house is cursed

Des Barnes was murdered there
http://www.corrieblog.tv/Des%20Barnes%20K.jpg

Tommy Harris was murdered by his daughter at the garage, Tommy owned No.6, Katie Harris killed herself there

then finally, Charlie was killed there

Sadly the Mortons all escaped alive :joker:

Thanks for all that Chewy, it brings it more to life now seeing it all laid out like that and where everything and everyone is.

Very interesting.

No problem :D

Cheers Chewy. What a wonderful memory of Corrie you have, who needs wiki..?

Looks like number 6 is as unlucky as number 10 Brookside Close

How do you expect houses to be on a street? :joker:

Bit like the TARDIS, the rovers isnt it, I wonder if ken and deidre get a bit hacked off with people popping into their kitchen to use the rovers toilets?

And The living room for the rovers is in the middle of Rosamund Street

Scarlett. 20-12-2011 09:29 PM

It used to be worse :P

I reckon there might be a fire or something next year, and they will change the layout to fit the new 2013 set (Where the Rovers will be built to a larger scale)

Bit of useless info for you.

In 1967, a goods train derailed from the top of the viaduct onto the street (Déja vu?) Sonia Peters died.

Also, one of the train carriages that was used in the shot, ended up as my parents garden shed! I kid you not

Great pic, Chewy! I'll try and post up a pic tomorrow of my Mum & Dad's garden shed. But it was much smaller than it appeared on screen.

I can imagine xD that was on the old original indoor set which was tiny :joker:

I found a good pic of Rosamund Street, how it appears in the show

http://i40.tinypic.com/1zogmdy.jpg

It appears under this bridge :P

Tom 20-12-2011 10:02 PM

I think its funny how that bridge is completely absent above the back gardens

lol, though they....kinda addressed it in the tram crash episodes by just showing that one as a bridge or an arch

Judas 20-12-2011 10:49 PM

So in the old days did the rovers use to be huge?

Scarlett. 20-12-2011 11:08 PM

Aye, skip to 0:43

Judas 20-12-2011 11:15 PM

Did the ever explain why it shrunk? And was that a church next door to it?

Scarlett. 21-12-2011 12:10 AM

It was in the very early days so it was discounted, not to mention in the same episodes the mission hall was stated to be across the road, not next to the Rovers

What they should do with the new set, is have a storyline where Rosamund Street (beyond the arch) is to be demolished or something, to make way for a new tram line or the like, then they could block off where the arch is. Then Steve could get the idea of extending the Rovers with an extension being built infront of the arch, so that The Rovers would finally be realistically big enough for the interior set & the bar area could be enlarged then too...

It would also get rid of the problem of the pointless viaduct that doesn't actually have a bridge above & the problem of the dodgy view of the blown up canvas photo of Rosamund Street, that they still block off with a Newton & Ridley lorry whenever it is in shot :joker:

Visage 21-12-2011 11:41 PM

When you look at the Rovers from the street you see the entrance and two windows to the left. As you walk to the end of the windows there's a small wall where the dart board is on the inside, carry on walking, turn right and it's a straight wall.

But if you were to go in the Rovers and behind the bar and through the door, you get an area where the telephone table stand is, plus the stairs and the back door. Then you have the living room which has the kitchen attached.

Marsh. 22-12-2011 01:22 AM

I remember reading that in the 60's, the Rovers exterior was sometimes a completely different set filmed on location (the big one with large square windows either side of the door) and they had to flimsily edit all the street together by cutting and sticking the images together when doing things like the end credits seen above.

An old picture from out the old Corner Shop door, with the Viaduct in the background
