The work she was doing with M.I.A is for a remix of Bad Girls

Azealia Banks has cancelled her upcoming festival dates this summer.

The singer has pulled out of all five of her UK festival appearances, including Lovebox, Rockness, Park Life and Rough Beats.

A statement released by Banks's team said: "A decision has been made by her new management that she needs to get back into the studio and invest more time on her forthcoming debut album Broke With Expensive Taste."

Rough Beats festival organiser Mike McSherry admitted that he was "gutted" by the news, adding: "It would have been her first major headlining show in the UK and we were pretty chuffed about getting in there early and backing her to be a great act even before her debut releases.

"I think her management have made the right decision. As great as her Coachella performance was, the UK audience is going to need more than half hour of material from a headliner."

Thats a shame, but at least its for a good reason

Banks then went on to add: "She then had her assistant write me some long ass offensive email about how Lil Kim writes her own raps and doesn’t need anyone's help … All this extra **** is stupid. Keep closing your own doors ma."

However, Lil Kim's publicist CJ Carter has dismissed the claims. In a statement to AllHipHop, he said:

My client and Azealia have NEVER spoke to one another or met AT ALL…Kim was actually very flattered [by] Azealia’s public admiration for her, which is why it’s so hard to understand how someone who claims to be a true Lil Kim fan could flip the script so easily on someone who was supposedly their idol.

Carter added that Kim has "no desire to discuss the matter any further", concluding: "It honestly seems that someone from Azealia's team would rather have her fans buy into manufactured drama instead of buying music."

Banks has since responded by calling the spat "pathetic", stating: "For the record: I didn't make this a thing. Nor did anyone on my team. I never once made any statements about this."

Oops that wasn't very obvious, ya no I love Azealia.

Lil Kim did pave the way for female rappers, especially ones like Nicki Minaj and Azealia Banks. Don't know why people seem to dislike her. She hasn't done anything good in a long while, but at one time she was up there with some of the best. She did all the stuff they are doing, just ten years earlier.

I like Nicki Minaj, although IMO Azealia is a better rapper and sticks to her rap/dance roots but Nicki and her management are smart in the business sense that a pop music like style sells the most;).

Azealia Banks has announced a new release schedule for her upcoming projects, and she's tacked one more onto the pile. According to Banks' Twitter, her delayed 1991 EP is imminent-- it'll be out this month, while her debut full-length Broke With Expensive Taste will arrive "in the fall". She'll add a mixtape called Fantastic to the agenda this summer, too. Oh and she's re-shooting the video for "Liquorice" with photographer/director Rankin.

Banks also says she'll release mixtape track "Jumanji" this Friday. Someone get Robin Williams on the line!
