If I was a woman from there I would just leave for another country.
They have no chance without an education.
I would hate all those limitations. It's like a prison.

Just like a prison, they can't simply leave. They don't have the resources to do so, and the cultural norms keep them practically imprisoned, it probably wouldn't occur to a lot of them that they should be able to live like a human being...

Taliban bans women from working for NGOs

[An order by the Taliban banning women
from working for non-governmental
organisations (NGOs) has been condemned
by the United Nations, which said the
move violated fundamental rights.

The Islamist rulers justified the move by
saying female NGO staff had
broken dress codes by not wearing hijabs.
The decree comes just days after female students
were banned from universities.[

[The US Secretary of State also criticised
the move saying it would be
"devastating for the Afghan people".]

This is exactly why hijabs are a sign of oppression, even when women "choose" to wear them. Those poor women and girls over there.

Very Sadly
The Taliban now have gone even Worse,

A female can no longer see a Male Doctor.

A female must never talk in Public.

A female must never sing in her home.

But seriously they're trying to take all of the fun out of talking to women if they're not allowed to show off their personality and interests in public settings.

It's a joke Arista.

I am far from happy about the situation in Afghanistan, but I respond to it differently to yourself is all.

Plus I bolded the part of your post that I was quoting, which wasn't the doctor part.

My jokes always stink Arista, it's my great power.:joker:

But the way that I honestly see it, is that all of us on TIBB can only so many times say about how what's going on in Afghanistan towards the women is repugnant.

I'm just trying to lighten the mood on what is otherwise a very bleak story.

I honestly didn't mean to offend anyone, it's just the way that I like to try and cope when bad things happen that I can't control.

Livia 09-01-2025 11:37 AM

If Biden hadn't pulled out of Afghanistan so suddenly, leaving behind people who had helped us, deeming worthless the losses of our troops, including my first husband, the Talban wouldn't have returned so swiftly to power. I hold sleepy Joe Biden responsible.
