At least a year. I finish my job in 19 days too. Thank ****.

Yeah, it's a pretty **itty feeling - I've said much the same myself at times so I totally get you on that one.

Do you have an itinerary sorted, planned your routes or are you just going to call wherever you lay your hat, your home?

I'd love to do something like that. I think that's why I don't know what career path I want to go down yet, there's so many things I want to do and I don't want a job restricting me from doing them.

Well I start in Auckland and will remain there for the first seven days, then after that wherever the wind takes me. I have certain areas and sites I want to visit as well as activities I would like to do, including some caving, but I don't have deadlines for those, depends on who I meet.

do you just like latch on to random people like walk to somebody on the street and ask if you can live with them how does it work im intrigued

A few of my friends did the very same thing: loose idea of plan / direction but with lots of leaway to change depending on who they met, what was happening, where.

They had an absolute blast - they did it via one of these 'round the world' type things and Oz / NZ was the last leg (I think they spent about 8/9 months at that end).

Said it was a brilliant experience.

Such freedom would be amazing. If you have the means to do it, you'd be off your rocker not to.

I'm so envious.

This time next month I'll be on the plane heading to Auckland. Genuinely nervous now.

Also I know one of my Uncles wanted to go to New Zealand but he never had the money to go.

you're making me scared about my DISSERTATION!!!!

You meet people in the hostels, bars, trips etc and get talking and if you have similar interests or routes planned you can team up. Also it reduces cost per person if there is a car involved.



I know, I'm so excited. I cannot wait to feel freedom again.
