I have empathised with her, and found her badly wanting. That's my opinion you see, based on my own personal experience-go figure. As a non smoker, I wouldn't judge this harshly, as I don't know how hard it would be to give up, so I lean towards the opinion that to give up completely causing untold stress would do more harm than good. Stress in pregnancy is very bad, and a mother to be should be able to relax and enjoy her pregnancy as much as possibly, this being in the best interests of both child and mum, so I wouldn't criticise.
