It's very very repetitive, nom talk.

Semtex 20-06-2012 08:30 AM

Et cetera.......

This.

It was evident on last night's BOTS that nomination talk and strategizing is too complex for the basic chav audience to understand. Apparently they'd rather watch people farting, talking about poo, acting thick, having fake romances, and pulling pranks.

HoneyPot 20-06-2012 10:18 AM

I'm loving it

Marc 20-06-2012 10:19 AM

I think this series is pretty poor

Oh, I disagree completely.

The only housemates worth talking about this time last year were Rebeckah and Aaron. Besides that, all people did on here was complain about the editing and lack of live feed. It was certainly not very exciting.

Last series was way too heavy on fauxmances and relationships. I still enjoyed it though. But this series >

But pretty much the only thing being discussed this year is the nomination talk and the scheming, I don't find myself that interested in most of the threads, might just be because I don't really care for almost all the housemates in there

Razor 20-06-2012 12:58 PM

I just love big brother. :D

Me too! And this year it's brilliant!

aman201 20-06-2012 07:04 PM

SRS, how important is the no rules about nominations thing.

That's whats made this series.

Without it, it'd be ****.

cant believe people were complaining that this rule was changed.

arsenalforever 20-06-2012 07:13 PM

A week ago i would have said yes but now its really started to grate sadly. There is too much talk of Noms and bitching. BB should be fun, laughs and funny moments haven't seen any of these in this BB.

Doogle 20-06-2012 07:41 PM

I wish they'd give the housemates parties only sometimes, because the parties are good but I do some nights just want to watch them having every day conversations.

Me. I Am Salman 21-06-2012 12:48 PM

Definitely the best series in years

I'm not too happy about it. Last year my initial reaction to the housemates was that they are too similar but in the end they weren't. This year I thought their backstories had potential and maybe they'd be interesting but it doesn't seem that way. It's the first time ever I don't feel anything for any of the housemates. The ones I was hopeful about during the launch night disappointed me and others haven't stepped up - I mean there's not a single person I'm intrigued by. I miss all the fun moments and the laughter. I miss discussing someone's personality, debating on it etc. This series is a huge let-down.

bananarama 21-06-2012 04:29 PM

It's an over reaction to the novelty factor of talking about noms to call this series the best for years. Strip it down and it certainly is no where near the best just a little different at the start....

My concern is by having noms talk so early that genuin friendships forming have been sabotaged for the whole series. A BB without some genuin friendships and genuin conflicts is not big brother at all.......

Talking noms and constant all round back stabbing wears thin after a week or two and becomes sterile to watch....

Lol, not liking something that you do makes someone a chav?

I don't like constant nom talk because it's boring and limits variety. I'm not interested in watching Lydia, Luke etc witter on about nominations constantly.
Does that make me a chav?

If we're generalising, I'll have a go. All people who enjoy the nom talk are bastards. Too harsh?

Or perhaps you're *finally* too old for the show....

BB IS ALIVE 21-06-2012 06:03 PM

There is more of a buzz around this series, and I think the housemates are much better. Can't wait for each episode.

Every housemate bar Luke A and Conor bring something to the mix, and there's a mix between humour and drama that hardly ever occurs in a decent series nowadays.
If this was on C4 then people would be raving about it, yay :)!
OH AND CAROLINE FTW <3

I am genuinely shocked and amazed! I pretty much left 4 days into C5s first attempt (and missed their next CBB),
and,
Pretty much figured that was the end. If anything it would just be more obnoxious, childish, and look even more like a flamboyant plastic dance club,
however,
I tuned in just to see how bad it had gotten. Or MAYBE I could find a Paddy or SOME genuine 'real person' just for the sake of hoping they shame the program.
Well (brace your damned self) but I am eating my words. This is actually one of THE best casts they have ever assembled.
Yes - I would STILL like to see more older people, genuinely working class types and less 'hot bodies',
but,
Somehow, they pulled this off! They found enough 'young and fit' but who are also complicated, unique, strange, more than a few are 'deeper' and mature, jaded, disturbed, a little more intelligent than may seem etc.

Honestly, I was first annoyed as hell they did NOT take a few seasons off and then return with a genuine 'reboot'.
Even more disgusted it was just a cheap 'knock-off' recycle but even more childish and superficial.

Now I'm amazed I am actually saying this - WELL DONE 5! You got it! You have got the right idea and some of the best casting (and mix of cast) of them all.
And what encouraged me a little more - Things like the 'Lab Rats' is taking it back to what BB was MEANT TO BE. You got it! And it is paying off!

Another sign of hope: Yesterday they acknowledged and even took the plss out of themselves with the over-the-top wonderworld editing. (the Bots staff beautiful friends/days of our lives parody).

Now if they can just let their world-famous narrator stop SHOUTING and get back to his classic self and may i suggest less need for OUTRAGEOUS SPARKLESSSS AND WWEEEEEEEE Laserssss!

*Now, the ONLY problem is that we still have the voting of 15 year old girls smashing mobile numbers until they remove ANY interesting people getting in the way of whatever generic hardbody 'showmance' they determine they want.

Fetch The Bolt Cutters 22-06-2012 10:29 PM

best BB since BB6

Valdora 23-06-2012 03:53 AM

I have really been enjoying it. And people are talking about it again and unlike last year where I turned off, I find myself excited to see each new episode. I haven't felt like that since the move to 5.

For me however the format gets in the way. If these housemates and this content was being edited in the Channel 4 style it would be one of my favorites. Also I wish the show would start to take itself seriously again. Big Brother was Big Brother for pretty much the first time since the 5 when they did the nom punishment. I want harsh Big Brother back, the explanations for everything so we know they aren't in contact with the outside world (such as if they leave the house, telling us they are blindfolded. Remember that?). When they treated their audience with some dignity and didn't replay everything and remind you of everyone's names every five minuets. I miss the serious tone to the show and the coldness of Big Brother pre series 11 and won't LOVE a series until that is back. But for content once you get past the lens flares (GOD THE LENS FLARES!) and the camp glittery stupidity of the editing is very good. Certainly miles better than last year which had me shaking my head more and more with each passing week.

MatthewS 23-06-2012 04:01 AM

Seasons 7 and 10 were the best in recent memory for me. This one? We'll see...

Scotty07 23-06-2012 04:39 AM

I'm kind of dreading who will be gone by the half way point and what mix we are left with, so it's too early to know just how good it will be come the end. Such a shame that it doesn't even have late night live feed though.:(

MatthewS 23-06-2012 04:41 AM

Maybe we'll see new housemates at some point?

Scotty07 23-06-2012 04:49 AM

So far though the best since BB10 for me and if it throws in new housemates the way that series did, then I can't wait. Those were the strongest bunch of new housemates ever imo.
